Daily Thread SUNDAY 08-03-08 - Page 3

slept in today!

taught yoga all afternoon (4 hrs), then had dinner with friends where we talked about potential day care/babysitting job for them in march (they're due in early dec). mine would be about 6 months old, theirs about 3. she may work part time, so i'd only have to sit part time--not bad really.

then, came back here and got online to begin to plan the fall/winter wardrobe. having gone through my clothing, i realized that a lot of what i have has holes in it or stains on it or what have you. so, i'm recycling what fabric i can (into cloth wipes, etc), getting rid of what i can't, and streamlining to the basics.

a friend said i'll need a lot of t-shirts to deal with spit-up, etc, and that her prefered 'style' for BFing was nursing bra, tank top or camisole, with t-shirt on top, with cardigan when cold. she would carry extra t-shirts in her diaper bag, that way if she was spit up on (or what have you), she could easily change.

makes sense to me--particularly having seen it in action. i mean, it was quite functional. shirt goes up, tank and bra go down, everything covered, and you're in layers, so you can always remove a layer if you need to (remove the sweater, then the shirt, and still have the tank. and if nursing, you can draw the tank up, bra down, and still be comfortably covered).

so, i'm looking for:

two skorts
one more pair of jeans
one pair of cargo/hiking pants

7 t-shirts
4 camisoles/tanks
2 cardigans

3 nursing bras

i'm pricing things out now. lots of stuff on sale. other than nursing bras, i think i can get everything i need for under $200. psyched about that!

Yep, extra shirts! I need to remember to pack those in my diaper bag. For a while when we go out we pack extra clothes for everyone.

Zoebird- I bought 3 of these nursing tanks and really like them. Great price! I wear them under a shirt without a bra and plan on using them for sleep bras until I don't need to wear pads to bed. They are super comfy.

Ooh, thanks for this tip! I just went online and ordered 3 of these. I wasn't sure what I was gonna use for nursing this time (don't have anything left from 4 years ago), but love wearing camisoles or tanks in the AZ heat. So these should be perfect!

wish I could use something like that, but I've got DD's when I'm not preggo, I wont even check how big they've gotten now. I have enough trouble keeping them up and inside my regular bra, I shudder to think of letting them roam free.
