has anyone gotten an editor position? how long did you have to wait to hear back? what was the training like? how long did it take? do you make $ there or is it more a stepping stone? how about the literary zine? anyone publish work there?

I'm the Budget Decor Editor. I finish my training this week. They do not pay you. However, you can place affiliate links at the end of an article you write, so you can recommend a book for more information or a product.

The other writers are hugely supportive. I don't know anything about the literary ezine, Muse or something. I don't know.

I heard back from them about 2 weeks after I applied.

Good luck.

Lisa Shea, the site owner, is fantastic and very supportive, she hosts chats, she encourages networking and learning from one another, she distributes tools to her writers and helps you learn so much. Another way you can earn more money there is by selling ebooks and she teaches you how, step by step. She's amazing and generous.

I just sent in my application for an editor position too. It'll be a long 2 week wait...

What position mirthful?

And, FYI - it took longer than 2 weeks for me to hear back. A lot longer. My face is STILL blue from lack of oxygen. *laughing*

I'm enjoying the training process though - it was very thorough. I graduate tomorrow. Woot!

Very cool Angela!

I applied for the Canadian Culture Editor.

I also applied thanks to Lisa's detail of the education they provide.

I would rather not say as to what position though, simply because I wouldn't want it to prevent someone else from applying. I'll let you know whenever I hear one way or the other.

Hmmmmm... I didn't think of that. I guess I shouldn't have told either.

I tend to be overly cautious about that kind of stuff, mirth. I hope I didn't make you feel badly, wasn't my intention.

I am anxious to hear of all of our acceptance!

I jumped on this bandwagon and put my application in this morning. Good luck to all waiting.

That's smart not to say, When Angela applied, I went through the list and Pregnancy was the only one I liked, so I had to be imaginative and conjure up some decorating thoughts into my mind in order to apply. Luckily it only took like 25 minutes or I would have changed my mind.

Nah. I just should've given it more thought before I divulged the info.

It's nice to have people to wait with though. Good luck to all : again

Ug. I am starting to re-think my Bella application. I just started laying out my fall schedule and I am wondering how I am going to have time for this.

I would love to make it work, but as it is I haven't written at Suite for a month. Granted my writing time should free up in Sept, but then I have other obligations going on.

What to do, what to do...

I wonder whom I should write if I decide to withdraw my app? I can't find info on the site.

woohoo! I got an approval for training! :

Congrats! You'll be awesome at the topic!

I did decide to pull my app after I posted here. I think I might be getting a little too distracted from my main goals.

There just is too little time to do everything that I want to do.

Awesome!! Congratulations on your acceptance! The training process was a lot of fun and the other writer's are super helpful.

Wow! Wait to go!!!

I'm still waiting... Do they let you know if you didn't get accepted?

congrats, April. Jenny- the time commitment is similar to Suite, so if you're having trouble keeping up right now I'd stay w/ Suite. Suite pays directly, Bella you have to manage your own affiliate links (but you get 100%)

That's what I was thinking, Lisa. I *think* when my book is done Sept 1st things should ease up, but then I look at my weekly schedule and think I am insane for applying at Bella. I decided what I will do is give myself a month to focus on S101, and if by October I feel more competent to handle things, then I will start looking at Bella again, but only will try for a topic that really and truly interests me. I was just sort of stabbing at one, and realized I think I'd be very bored writing under it.

Mirth - "Canadian Culture" is still open, though I see April's environment is closed. I would assume you are still in the clear. Some were filled, other new topics were opened over the weekend.
