no, you don't necessarily need money unless you want to purchase a product at a discount!! i have found a few great free sites there already!! i just blogged about it & listed the sites that will benefit my kids ages. there is definitely some great stuff there!!!!

I've been on the list for this site for a long time. They advertise a lot of things from curriculum at a reduced rate to legos. I am currently considering a group buy for HeadSprout through them. It is free to join. The only time you would pay money for anything would be if you decided to participate in one of their group buys. You can also get free id cards from them that you print off and then use as proof that you are a homeschooler whenever you need proof.

I recently joined but haven't bought anything through them (yet). But they send emails when they have new group buys, and some of them look like great deals - or at least very good deals. Be sure to read all the 'rules' before you purchase though - they do charge a service fee (I'm not sure if that's what they call it) which seems to vary depending on the product. Still probably a good deal, but it's always good to read the fine print first and not be surprised.

I've bought from the Co-op a couple of times. I have a couple more things that I will probably buy toward the end of the periods as well.

I even asked for a refund for one thing as I didn't like it. No problems on that end, either.

I was waiting for Headsprout, but I found a deal and I got to use a discount AND pay over 6 months, so that will work for us. Plus, I didn't want to wait another month.

I have been a member for a year or more and bought through them 2x with no problems and a great discount.
It's a great resource.

As far as United Streaming-check with your state homeschool group. Some homeschoolers can access it for free through their school district. I'm lucky enough to get it for free this year-woohoo!

United Streaming is a great resource-tons of information on just about every topic under and around the sun! They have foreign language, science, all school subjects, history, art, etc etc etc
