What to do with fresh hot peppers?

I have a red hot pepper plant that's producing. Dh and I love spicy food. The children don't love it though. Any sauce ideas and recipes? Other than thai food and pickling it, I can't think of what to do with it. Pickling is a little too complicated for me at the moment.

how about chili?
we have several different hot peppers producing and just add them to whatever we are cooking- basically anything. you didnt say what kind of hot peppers they are- for the larger chili peppers, we like to split them long ways, stuff (usually with herbs and cream chese) and bake. even ds will eat them this way.

Yes, chili is a good idea. I don't make it very often as my oldest really doesn't tolerate spicy food. To be honest, I don't know what kind of hot pepper it is. It's the long kind that turns from green to red when it's ripe I know it's not a jalapeno. Here's what they look like:

You can dry them and crush them up to be sprinkled on foods randomly - pizza, salads, whatever you want to add a little kick too. Or you can freeze them and then add them to stir fry's and sauces and such as you like.

They sound like little cayanne-type peppers to me... I have a couple plants too that are just now finally starting to ripen. Hurrah!

We all like spicy foods, so we throw them into just about anything we eat!
