Okay...so these are my 2 stories of NIP in the past week. I just want to share.
We were at the beach in OC, MD and were on the boardwalk with DS in the wrap (but it made into a sling). He got hungry so I sat down on a bench and started to feed him (you couldn't see a thing, I had on a loose tshirt and a skirt pulled up high over my belly and hip. AND SOME DUMB KID WHISTLED AT US!!! DH was M-A-D. He said, "oooh, honey, rip your shirt off and show them boobs...then they'll actually have a reason to whistle!"
And in church this Sunday (back home from the beach) DS conveniently wanted to nurse right as the communion song began...so I latched him on and slinged him up real quick before we all got up to go get communion...and I then nursed my son in front of everyone while I walked up and around and back to our pew. All you could see was a little side boob (same thing as before with a skirt pulled up high). And the dad next to us with four kids gave me a big smile of support after Mass...
Hopefully other moms in our church will feel more comfortable with nursing during Mass...many of them run to the bathroom where there's a rocking chair even though our priest has never said anything anti-BF and is very open and liberal about many issues...and of course you always see people giving bottles of formula during church.
Sorry that's so long I'm just proud of myself for trying to pave a new road in my own little way!
And we freaked out the lady at the picture studio today in JCPenney's. We got DS's pictures done in just a diaper (we CD) and she said, "Oh, that's cute, a cloth diaper for the picture. It'll look retro." And DH said, "No, we use those all the time...every day. Very modern and eco-friendly."
LOVE my DH!!!
