please either reply here or send me a pm. Im seriously considering this route to have my second child and would like to chat online with others who have used this option or who are in the process of doing so. (Would like to know your thoughts on a few issues to do with it)

I ttc using donor sperm from a sperm bank several years ago and was ultimately unable to get pg, but due to my own body's "interesting" features.
You might check out the Queer Parenting board - I'm pretty sure there's almost always a current thread on sperm banks.

I just clicked on this thread because one of my friends just had a babe that was conceived using donor sperm. She's in a relationship with another woman and a friend of theirs donated sperm so that she could get pregnant. They "did it themselves" (not at a sperm bank) and it took around 6 (maybe 7?) attempts before she became pg.
