Coco, nope, that just brought me to the home page.

How many embryos will they be transferring?

And I have to say, a transfer on 08/08/08 - how auspicious!

Just covering Girlie and Coco with some baby dust before their transfers!

I am either pregnant or having some monster PMS. This has not been a good day. This morning I was all shaky and teary and on the verge of crying at the littlest things. Then this afternoon I am mad at the world and sick and tired of visiting my clients who didn't mean to get pregnant!

ooh, I hear you on that one. I also do home visits with this population. : I thought I was going to scream talking with one particularly whiney family this morning. So many babies. I love what I do, but visiting pregnant women and mamas with young babies day after day is getting harder and harder.

cd 1 here. :

Still trying to track down the last vial of our donor's sperm. We know where it is, it's just proving to be a little difficult to get it where we need it to be. Hopefully 2 weeks is long enough to make it happen.

I am trying to think optimistic thoughts. I really, really hope we can be lucky enough to get pregnant on the first try. :

Lots of to the IVFers and everyone else!

I hope you get everything figured out soon. Red tape can sure suck in the world of TTCing.

On a side note - megincl, would you mind if added your blog as one of the blogs I like to from our blog?

Hey y'all, I'm still here...kind of behind on the thread, and don't know when I'll catch up.

I just moved into my new apartment, sort of - I'm still very much working on getting settled.

I do have the computer set up. I got my priorities.

I am officially done taking a break. I'm at the OBGYN tomorrow to find out what's going on with my cycle, so right now, I think I'm Waiting To O!

Realistically, I will not be inseminating this cycle because I'm leaving for summer camp in eight days.

Just so you get that right here with me feeling - I have no food in my new apartment, save half a can of Mountain Dew, and a pack of rice crackers that I remember buying when I first thought I was pregnant because I was nauseous all the time. I finally opened them tonight because I might starve if I don't eeat *SOMETHING* It feels like a million years ago, but it was just over a year. I've had better crackers.

Absolutely! I'd be honored. (oh, and new posts to come, FINALLY, very very soon)

to everyone with the RE advice, thanks so very much! Katie has already been on clomid, which seems to help her O somewhat, so I'm intrigued to see what they might want to do. When we return home from vacation tomorrow, we'll go into serious research mode.

be well all,
megin

Congrats on coming off your break! And sorry that the crackers weren't better.

Thank you! I went ahead and added you just now. I like to be reminded that we're not the only lesbian parents out there. Because in real life, we only have 3 queer friends.

we got the results of dp's cd3 blood work. her fertility hormones are great:

fsh 3.1, lh 3.2, prolactin 14.4, estrogen 33

and we found out she is a+ not b+ as she has always thought, lol

however, as usual, nothing is easy when it comes to ttc and the bad news is that she is hypothyroid and positive for anti-thyroid antibodies which almost certainly means hashimoto's thyroiditis. her family has a history of auto-immune disorders so it's not unexpected. she has a thyroid u/s lined up for monday which will be followed by a consult with our clinic dr and probably an rx for synthetic thyroid hormone. however, given our clinic's track record with me, we will be following up ourselves with the RE who helped me out with the issues i had when ttc...just to be sure there aren't any other tests we should have run. we already plan to have factor v leiden and MTHFR tested for.

hopefully we will get the green light to continue down the path with ttc with dp. i am officially soliciting good vibes for that!

Just popping in to say that I'm also hypothyroid, with Hashimotos, and had slightly low TSH counts but off the wall antibody counts. Taking synthroid changed my life (felt so much better, luteal phase finally got longer), and I got and stayed pregnant just fine. Good luck!

thanks angela, i will pass on that awesome news to dp - she's been a little down in the dumps since we found out.

Thanks for all the dust everyone!!!

Coco - I'm thinking of you!!!! Update when you can to let us know how its going!

Ok. I have a TMI question that only y'all can appreciate.

RE told me not to use regular lube. To either use Replens (which is $$$$) or veggie oil. I'm ok with the concept of veggie oil. But I don't believe it plays nicely with...silicone. Am I right?

Second part of this is...once we do the transfer Tuesday, I will be entirely too terrified of 'dislodging' any embies to even SNEEZE, much less have an orgasm. MUCH LESS use any...toys. Am I being ridiculous? What approach do y'all take to this when TTC, or when pg?

I'm trying to assure DP that the embargo would only last until I either get a BFN, or until we see a heartbeat...but even then I'm not so sure about toys. Thoughts? Experiences with this?

:...off to go crawl under a rock now

Here's my update:

I went in for my second scan today and I have 2 mature follies
I was hoping for 3-4, but 2 is GREAT! They are 15 and 18, so tonight it's the HCG and Sunday I'll start my 2WW!

My partner and I have been trying for over a year, through surgeries and roller coasters, but this is the first time for me. It's so odd, because I feel like I know quite a bit about the process, it's just wierd to see me on the screen instead of her!

I have a strange question for anyone who cares to answer: What does ovulation feel like? Different for everyone? How long should I be taking my BBT? I just started, so it'll be hard to notice a real pattern probably...

Anyway, GOOD LUCK to all! :

I think you are right about the oil, but there is a sperm safe lube called Preseed you can buy online that is safe for couples TTC. I have seen it at Drugstore.com.

I understand your fear of dislodging anything, but everything I have read says it doesn't affect anything (in the very early days). It's not like they can just fall out KWIM! With our daughter, we weren't uh, chaste, and nothing seemed to bother her. I personally had concerns about the vibrator, but my midwife said that the vibrations were too mild and localized to affect the baby. And she seems to have been right. I think toys are fine, and sometimes you have such an intense NEED in pregnancy for relief.....:

I always noticed a sharp cramp that lasted for an hour or two on the day of O. I would take your temp from the start of your cycle to the joyful or bitter end. It is hard to get an accurate pattern if you haven't been doing it from the beginning, but you could look for a dip and then rise 7-10 dpo, or a sustained high temp. I am not sure how the meds affect it though.

Hmm...it wasn't sperm I was concerned about. For this whole cycle (even tho no sperm is involved, only an FET in a few days) RE's office told me the lube thing. And I know that baby oil and the like can kill rubber/silicone...so I'm not sure about that.

Thanks for the response, though.

Same with me, I usually feel a cramp the day of. I really have to watch for it though, and sometimes I wonder if I actually feel it or if, because all other signs point to ovulation, I just think I feel it

Good luck to you!

Ooook so its done !

We had our transfer this morning: 2 grade 1 - 8 cell embryos with one begining compaction. The embryologist was very pleased with them. I thought they looked determined and beautiful... I will figure out a way to share the photos... anyone know of a hood photo sharing place ??

The transfer went without a hitch and I am back home... and TRYING to be off my feet...

Girlie, just so you know, it really doesnt hurt much. I asked for the baby speculum and they used it the whole time instead of the big ones... and it worked (And I have a quirky u-turn...).

I am hoping so hard........

Coco
xxx

PS I can be added to Two week wait... our beta is the 21st... if I refrain from HPT's.........
