AUGUST crafty mamas thread - Page 2

Hey, I am just catching up on this thread!

Frog, it's so good that your mom is selling your stuff! That's awesome.

I cleaned up my crafting/thrifting/junk collecting space last night, and realized I have no fewer than 5 unstarted or partially done craft projects lined up. Cards and placemats to collage, a batik kit to use (I decided I didn't want to do that one, though), some baby food jars to turn into something, a papermaking kit to try, candles to make...I've got to stop shopping and start crafting!

Frog, what about baked dough or baked apple-cinnamon ornaments?

In this book, Wagashi, there is a tutorial on how to make a fabric butterfly pin. It would be really easy to make it into an ornament. It would look rad with tie dye fabric!

Hopefully your library has it. If not, I found it in the Spring issue of Living craft as well.

We're busy crafting--my mom's been selling our wares at her bed and breakfast which has been keeping us VERY busy!

And here's a question: I'd love to make some Christmas ornaments, but have no ideas what/how. I do tie dye and have access to beading supplies. I can't sew at all. I'd LOVE some ideas.

Great suggestions so far--please keep them coming!

Heres a tutorial of an ornament. It looks like all you need is paper, glue scissors and ribbon

Frog; I love these paper ornaments, maybe you could make some and string them with a few beads? http://www.thetoymaker.com/Holidays/...Christmas.html

And here's one with polymer clay and beads, http://www.maryengelbreit.com/FreeFr...lySnowman.aspx

Subbing--

My machine has been in the shop for one month tomorrow (they said it would take 3 weeks). I am so pissed I could throw something heavy out the window. I keep calling and the ladies that work there are getting annoyed-- AGHHHH I know you will all understand my pain....

I finally finished a pair of pants I've been working on for months
In spring, I cut out the fabric and they just sat there. Well yesterday, I spent some time sewing them together and then I screen printed a bike on the leg. They look fabulous! : Im going to post a pic soon
