Peppermint soap for the first time and WOW does my kitchen smell GREAT!! No harsh chemicals!! And it looks great!! I feel so good about making the switch to more natural cleaners in my home!

Anyone else relate??

yes, peppermint dr. bronners! and you don't even need to wear gloves when using it! (oh, our kitchen floor is small and I just do it on my hands and knees, while ds *helps*)

borax powder in a dish with a squirt of dishsoap and just enough water to make a paste, scrubs the shower just nicely! Also, this mixture works great on the stove--it cuts through the grease like magic.

i use dr. bronners for just about everything!!!!!

BTW you can make a nice cleaning spray as well by filling a spray bottle halfway up with vinegar then fill to almost the top with water, add 2 tsp. dr. bronners (more or less) and *optional* add some peppermint/tea tree essential oil (10-20 drops). shake well before using.this works great on counters and quick clean ups on the floor and smells WONDERFUL!

Where do you buy this Dr. Bronners stuff? Is it in the supermarket?

Okay - I'm beginning to make the change to a natural home and have some questions -

Gemini - What ratio of Bronners to water did you use?

Pumpkin - When you said you use a squirt of dishsoap - What kind of dishsoap do you use??

Thanks in advance

Wombat~Here is a web site for it to get more info. http://www.drbronner.com/ I got mine from my local co-op that is in my neighborhood. You can find it at any natural foods place like Whole Foods or some people talk about Wild Oats, but that's not around here, and not sure it's in MD. That may be a west coast chain. I've seen Trader Joe's mentioned too. Not sure if that's in your area either.

How I used it was straight outta the bottle onto the floor! I used one of those bristle floor brushes and squirted a little on the floor added some water and scrubbed up! Then I'd rinse with a mop and hot water.

There is different scents too. I also have Sals Suds which is pine. There is lavender, which I want. Others that I can't think of at the moment.

Good luck finding it!

I'm reading Clean House Clean Planet....

I'm trying to do the less chemicals thing but we have so many cleaners I hate to waste them : So once i use enough to make me feel better about them I'll sop!

Congrats! I gotta get me some of that stuff!!

I threw out all my chemical cleaners after my second dd was born (she is now almost 2). I am just glad I dont have to worry about my kids getting those chemicals on them and its cheaper to clean without them.

For all my cleaning I just use a bottle filled water and vinegar and a squirt of Dr Bronners Sal Suds (I dont measure it, just squirt it in). Sometimes Ill put some essential oils, sometimes not. To scrub the tub and toilet and counters I use mostly Baking Soda and some Borax. I use the Sal Suds for everything (mopping floor, etc)

There is really nothing to it and you feel great about it!

I felt funny about wasting the stuff I have too, so I have slowly been using it up, and going to the natural cleaners. It's easier that way too so I don't get so overwhelmed.

I use Dawn. It's really a detergent and not a soap.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Dr. Bronner's Lavendar for everything in my home. After we got fumigated I sent my dd to my mom's and called two friends over and we washed the ENTIRE thing down with Dr. Bronner's. It smelled SOOOOO good! I LOVE to clean on weekends because I know everything will smell delicious.:LOL

Oh my goodness!!!!

I cleaned my kitchen floor w/ it last night and can't believe how clean it is!! I have a white linoleum floor that had ground in dirt due to my letting a lot of cleaning go by the wayside during my pgcy. It looks great noe and smells wonderful.

I got some Dr. B's in Peppermint and just did my kitchen floor and counter tops. It smelt so good, I got carried away and cleaned the bathroom as well. This stuff smells HEAVENLY. I used to always get a headache after cleaning. And I must admit I never cleaned as often as I should have cause I used to worry about the fumes getting to my birds and it was such a hassle to relocate them to clean the kitchen properly.

I just squirted it on the floor with some hot water a la Gemini fashion. I don't even have a mop - I just attached a washcloth to a Swiffer. It really works well too - as good if not better than those regular smelly cleaners.

Why isn't everyone using this stuff?? Why was I using those smelly cleaners all this time!

Just tonight, I saw Dr. Bronner's in peppermint and lavendar at SAFEWAY!!! They also had the Dr. Bronner's bar soaps in the same scents. They were in the beauty aisle, not the laundry or housecleaning aisle, so be sure to check there if you have a Safeway near you.

I like mixing grapefruit EO into it.

I am addicted to grapefruit and peppermint right now.

Dh likes it better than all the lavender I was addicted to last year...

hey, i do that too i'll go back and forth between the lavendar and peppermint dr bronners depending on my mood/time of year. also, if you mix just enough dr bronners and baking soda to make a frosting-like paste, it makes a great soft scrub. it gets my bathrooms and kitchen sparkly clean and smelling deeelicious

I have all wood floors. Has anyone ever used Dr. B's on wood or should I just use it on everything else? I just bought some Peppermint and I am ready for my house to smell good!
