Hi! I'm new!

After two weeks of lurkdom I'm coming out to join!

I decided to introduce myself here first since this board is where I have stalked the most... Which BTW this is the most informative forum I've found so far, on HB and I am so impressed with all you intelligent and informed ladies! I hope to learn even more as my pregnancy progresses...

My name is A, I'm 30yrs old and 19w pregnant with #2!

After a very traumatic and scary birth ending up in a c-section @ 34w with a NICU baby...all thanks to not so great care and docs nonchalant attitudes toward my PIH/Pre-E. When I became pregnant with this baby, I realized that things had to be different. I am scared to death to return to a hospital and realizing how very hard it was for me to put my trust into a doctors hands again, I knew that I wanted a homebirth from about 7w on. After doing careful research and talking through it with my hubby, DH and I decided on a HB and I am SOOO excited! I have hired a doula and I have already had my first prenatal appt with my midwives! I am just so blown away by the standard of care that I am recieving! I know I'm in great hands!:

Anyway, sorry so long! I just wanted to introduce myself and say thanks for all the information!

Yay, welcome! I hope you have a great time birthing your New Year's baby at home! (I'm 18 weeks, 1 day and due on the 6th, so I'm assuming your LO is due around New Year's...)

You should join the December and January DDCs too!

I had pre-e with my first and delivered at 39w5d (induction). Second time around I followed the brewer diet (http://www.blueribbonbaby.org/) and had a homebirth with no issues. My theory is that my pre-e was more environmental than genetic; I changed my environment (food, rest, exercise) and did not have pre-e.
