Where is it exactly? I couldn't find the story?

It is scheduled to be aired on the 6 o'clock news on MONDAY. I expect video clip will sow up on the website shortly thereafter.

BUT Maybe he is paranoid because of the large amount of HIV infected individuals? I'm only 20 now but when I was 17/18 I spent a lot of time hanging out downtown, there is a lot of HIV, and a lot of young male prostitution. Jacksonville can be depressing, especcially if you drive around at night. The night life is nothing like the day, especcially by 5-points and the metro.[large gay club]

There is a huge male gay population there, I know because I was friends with a ton!

I think Mr.Wright needs to be educated,.. then fired. Educated first, because if they fire him he doesn't have to stay to be educated. xD
I know around here there is a huge problem with anonymous park sex. If Mr. Wright is seriously concerned about HIV infection he should stop harassing women feeding their children and start making sure there are condoms placed in the male bathrooms with printouts of HIV statistics above every urinal.
Just sayin...

I'm interested to see how the news report covers this situation!

Absolutely right! The reason they are swim diapers is that they do not retain fluids, only solids. Ask my neighbor who put her DD in a swim diaper just before their hour long drive to the beach.

The man chased down a complete stranger with an internet print out to basically accuse her of trying to spread HIV by breastfeeding and you can't fathom the idea that he might shut it down for "decontamination?"

I'm sure we'll find out if it really happened when the media does the story.

However, as a field supervisor with a pool management company, I could shut a pool down for contamination any time I wanted without anyone batting an eye. Pools close for vomit or poop every day - no one would even bother to ask what kind of contamination it was.

The only way it would come back to bite me is if someone called and complained and the incident was looked into (as I imagine this one will be).

WOW. It's 5:45- so glad i caught this! I'll be watching the news in a few and I'm in St. Augustine- if theres a nurse-in I'll totally drive up for that. I can't believe this!

The news video is up and was well done I think.

Of course I've already left my two cents. *wink*

I like the way it was handled, but I'm wondering why they all referred to "people" breastfeeding? As far as I know, only *mothers* breastfeed and thus deserve the feminine pronouns of she/her, rather than the genderless "they" or "people."

Wow! When I read this thread the other day I was really hoping that it was an exaggeration... how sick and ignorant some people are!!! If I didn't live several states away I would join in on the nurse-in!
Given the wonderful response from the Park Department and the pledge to retrain everyone on this, is there going to be a nurse-in?
I thought the news article was we written and the news report was really well done but was slightly irritated by the comment that went kinda like this:
When I got the letter I thought that the mother was exagerating, maybe they just asked her to put a blanket over her or cover w/ a towel but NOT harrassment.
What does she think asking a mother to cover while nursing is? It is DEFINATELY harrassment!!!

I love that the introduction mentions "an educated mother...."

Loved it.
