Breastfeeding mom harassed at McDonald's in Berea, KY - Page 2

Has anyone heard whether there were any sort of apology or anything made yet?

Anyone see where the Mayor popped up and made a statement on what a "good job" this particular officer had done.

Is it just me or can y'all hear echos of "Heck of a job Brownie"

I'm proud of Jessica Denny, (the bfing mom in the story) good for her standing up for her right to feed her baby. It sounds like a bunch of patrons were backing up the manager, telling her to cover up.

As for an apology, the location's owner apologized and said she would make sure it didn't happen again. http://www.kentucky.com/181/story/482335.html

I think that McDonalds should come out with a statement. Of course I hate that corp, but this makes them look even worse. They should do some PR supporting Bf'ing....not that they will.

the first thing i thought when i read thing was ... 'maybe they are opposed to someone eating healthful food in their establishment' with all the bad publicity businesses get for doing this crap you would think they would wise up and cut it out goodness!

Ya know its sad that there even NEEDS to be a dang law that says it is ok to bf'd, why should we as women/mothers have to even be told its ok or not ok to bf'd? Makes me so mad....

Unfortunately, I don't think this issue will really get anywhere until a mama is willing to get arrested for it and taken to court. But what mother wants to be arrested when she's with her BFed child? I mean, really? But unless such a case is taken to court on say, a trespassing charge, and it's *hopefully* thrown out due to the breastfeeding laws, then the issue would enter case law and set precedence for future similar cases?

Is that anywhere close to right, mamajake? Would that work?

Um, me. I'd do it. I don't have an infant, but if I had a say, 10 month old, and there was another mom available to take the child for nursing...I'd do it.

There would need to be LOTS of support involved. People to film, people to support the mother's family while she's locked, people to follow the police to the jail and stand outside and with cell phones, calling media standing around talking to passersby, calling the local civil liberties unions, senators, LLL, etc..

It would need to take place in a city with lots and lots of lactivists. But how do you plan for such an incident? This stuff is all so random and incidental!

Sadly, this is probably right. The trespass issue puts moms between a rock and a hard place. Whether she can be arrested for trespass will only be known for certain if a mother is charged and fights the charge. Even then, since these are state laws a judicial decision is only binding in one state.

Frankly, the first thing that came to my mind after reading the title is GOOD FOR HER! No one should ever eat this non-eatable JUNK, especially not a nursing mom.

But seriosly, the whole story just made me :
