I have a sweater that is 48 % wool 48% acrylic and 4% other fibers.Could I felt it enough for a good wool cover?

Maybe for a daytime one. I'd use 80 percent or better for night.

Graet advice, thanks!

Do you think it would felt?

I think you'd have a hard time felting it--given the blend, it's probably superwash wool. Take a small sample and give it a try, though, you never know!

You could just use it without felting, if it's knit tightly enough. You may have to wash it a bit more often due to the acrylic content.

Good luck!

Since the other fiber is acrylic, not cotton or hemp, it should probably work. I've had 100% acrylic fleece covers and they worked fine, although not as waterproof as my wool ones.

I found that lanolizing improves the performance of wool, wool blends, and even pure acrylic covers.
