EPO - does it help orally, too?

When my midwife gets back into town, I am going to start using EPO. I might start RRL tea, but I normally cannot STAND any kind of tea, so I'm not sure! The thing is, I'm not sure about inserting the EPO capsules vaginally. Does it work to take them orally, too, or do I really need to insert them?

I just got my EPO tablets and my MW said to insert 2 (1000mg ea.) vaginally at night. I didn't do it last night because I was nervous about it.

I'm weird about putting things in my vagina. I pretty much like to avoid the insertion of all inanimate objects, you know? I believe that this and also my refusal to wear underpants has contributed to the fact that I've never had any vaginal issues or yeast infections or anything. So, I feel pretty strongly about it.

Plus, I feel like I would need to wear undies to bed so I don't leak oil all over the sheets. I DO NOT want to wear undies to bed.

So yeah, I plan on using the EPO vaginally because my MW recommended it but I am really having some issues getting started.

My mw recommended just one capsule vaginally... puncture it, push it up deep as you can (so that you are as close to the cervix as possible), and squeeze it, pulling out the spent capsule afterwards. She didn't mention wearing underwear to bed (which I would hate doing), but did say I'd need to prop my hips up for a bit to let the oil soak in. Not sure if this helps or not... I haven't done it yet. My DH is going to have to do this, since my belly's so big, I can't get my fingers inside, much less that deep inside.

I was directed to just insert the capsules and let them melt. I assume that not all of the oil will be absorbed by the vaginal walls and some might leak when I get up to go to the bathroom and I do not want oily sheets!!

Having to squeeze the capsule while its in the vagina sounds incredibly difficult.
