What kind of yarn would you use?

I found this great pattern for a shawl. The directions call for Rowan 4 ply.....that's all it says. I feel pretty silly asking but do you think it's wool, superwash, what can I use? I wanted to use something from knitpicks but not too expensive. TIA.

that really does! I even looked at Rowan and couldn't figure exactly what yarn they meant. Thanks
