Remember the thread about intense period-type cramping? Well it was definitely the beginning of labor for me!
Contractions began late Monday night sending my husband to sleep on the couch, I guess I was keeping him up with the moaning
They stayed at 12-18 minutes apart until around 8am so I wasn't convinced at all that this was really it yet. Called the MW around 9 and said it must be prodromal but she wanted me to come in to be checked. Arrived at the hospital around 10:30am and was 5centimeters and 100% effaced!
Was admitted and made it to 8 cm before asking for an epidural. The pain was too much for me and I wanted to be fully present for this birth. The rest of the labor went beautifully, 45 minutes of pushing and she arrived at 4:30 on August 5th - 7lbs, 3 oz and 20 inches long.
She's tiny compared to my son who was 8lbs at birth!
Milk came in on day 2 but I'm engorged and in pain so I'm working on that.
I'm just so happy to have her here, she's just beautiful!
