Is there a run on washing soda I don't know about?

I've always been able to get it at Safeway. Not there. Not at Target. Not at the hardware store that has EVERY OTHER cleaning item there (we're talking every size pumice stone imaginable, Simple Green, TSP, all the old school stuff). No one carries washing soda anymore -- am I the only one experiencing this?

The only store around me that carries washing soda is Giant...but they don't carry borax. If I want borax, I have to go to Safeway or SFW...but neither of these stores carry the washing soda.

I have the same problem. Only, no one carries it near me. Or so I thought.

Washing soda is really just sodium carbonate, in powdered form. Look in the pool supply section of the stores, and one of their ph boosters is pure, 100% sodium carbonate--aka washing soda. Just run it through the blender or food processor to powder it if it isn't. Oh, and it's also MUCH cheaper there too.

I thought it was just me... I couldn't find washing soda anywhere either!

I found it at our local supermarket chain! None of the hardware stores or HFSs had it, but the local chain has every cleaning product imaginable.
