Klean Kanteen sippy cozy?

Hey there, chikas!! I'm trying to find a simple-looking pattern for crocheting a cozy for a Klean Kanteen sippy. If I just sat down and tried, I'm sure I could figure something out, but I'd really like a pattern. I've found a couple, but they look too ornate...I just want a simple single or double-crochet type dealio. Any suggestions? Also, would 100% cotton be good for that? Wool, so it would felt over time? I really want to stay away from synthetics.

I've got one that'll be in my book, but it's knit, not crochet. I'm using wool, because cotton would just get damp and icky feeling with condensation.

Good point. Will you be felting? I knit as well, I'm just better at crochet...

Thanks frogger...I checked it out and I think it might be too ornate for my project. I'm getting Klean Kanteens for my younger siblings (two girls and three boys), and I wanted to make cozies for them. I was thinking of adding simple embellishments to differentiate...names, initals, etc. I might end up just doing different colors, though. Maybe I'll have to just figure out my own pattern and put it up on my blog!

I love the idea of a kk kozy. something felted and with a bottom to catch the condensation, etc.

Is that what will be in your book, Knittin'? And when is said book coming out?

be well,

Did you find a pattern? I made these but I don't exactly have a pattern. I guess I could write one up if you are interested, it is very simple:

I crocheted hairbands into the top for the little ones; stretch them on and they'll stay put that way. The big one didn't need it though...we love them, use them everyday.

I'd love your pattern, if you don't mind sharing!

Sorry I didn't respond to this, I've been out of town (and without internet). I will do my best to write down my pattern ASAP if you are still interested. :-)

Yep, mine is felted and has a bottom (it's basically a big wool cup, LOL!) and will have a bunch of different designs (like heart, recycle symbol, skull, etc) to spif them up. I'm self-publishing and slogging through the final pattern writing now, I *hope* to have it ready for Nov 1. But - we'll see how that goes, LOL!

Yes, I am!

I just made one with scraps that I knit and felted.
I swatched to find out how much the yarn would shrink, measured the circumference, and then the height to the bottom. then radius of the bottom (for decreases) I'll probably be posting the pattern on my blog very soon. It's not a sigg or kleen kanteen bottle, (it's a no name metal bottle) but you'd just do the measurements and the math the same way since not all wool felts equally.

Sounds perfect! I love that there will be different designs, too.

Good luck with the self-publishing process.
