Do plastic storage containers offgas?

I am thinking of putting away clothes in rubber made plastic containers in our bedroom closet. I'm trying to create a natural bedroom. I wonder if these containers offgas. I know it's bad to buy plastics for environmental reason. But they neatly stack and easy to take in and out of closet - easier than boxes. Thanks.

yes.

I use them, but I let them sit in my detached garage for a bit.

oh, my, yes! See if you can find some on freecycle ... I know that I'll be giving some away next year!!

As pp said, let them air out outside, but I don't think anyone knows how long that would take. Ours are pretty *old*. I don't worry so much about the off gassing anywmore, but I'm trying to declutter, so my intention is to just have less STUFF.

My preference at this point is to buy cardboard storage boxes for anything that I would be storing inside the house. Could that work for you? Archival storage boxes are very convenient sizes. Not cheap, but they are very well made. Look on the internet.
