So my best mom friend....I won't name names (*coughPaisleymamacough*) moved away to stupid Oregon and left me all alone with these fake hippy moms who only shop at trader joes because its trendy.

So please........any wonderful earth loving real hippy mamas living in this horribly over priced town?

hit me up!

I'm not, but wish I were. I'm having Lazy Acre withdrawal. That's probably too wannabee crunchy for you, though.

Oh, and I'm dying for the Spice Avenue buffet. :

I used to live in SB and visit whenever I can but I always met nice mama's at the farmers market at the Camino Real Market Place. Its on the corner of Storke and Hollister on Sunday Mornings.

Ugh, such yummy veggies. I miss it.

Not really a hippy, but I'd love an SB hippy pediatrician recommendation

Hi

I'm a new Santa Barbara mom - my husband and I just moved here from Santa Cruz and our son is Jeremiah and he's almost 18 months old. I don't consider myself a hippy, but I do shop the farmer's markets, practice attachment parenting, use cloth diapers, still breast feed, co-sleep, and share care of my son with my husband and a great sitter who comes 9 hours a week. I would have had a homebirth, but blood clots and pre-eclampsia decided to intervene and we ended up having a homebirth in a hospital! So, while I don't consider myself a hippy (I own only 1 "flowy" dress and I shave my armpits), I do have a lot of "hippy" values.

Anyway, I just started a new position in the Ecology Dept. at UCSB and would LOVE a recommendation of a pediatrician or family practice doc who won't think I'm weird for doing all of the things I mentioned above and who supports an alternative vaccination schedule (i.e. no vaccines now; MAYBE a couple when he's older).

Any suggestions from Santa Barbara moms???

Thank you in advance!
