What are we naming our babies? SHARE HERE! - Page 3

My son's middle name is his dad's first name, chosen because I like that name and wanted him named after his father, but his first name we picked just because we liked it. I wanted a Gaelic name because I'm Irish, and so this name was just perfect. For this baby she'll have three names, first name we just like and is Irish to boot!, first middle name is after my grandmother (changed from Joann to Joanna though) and second middle is a name that dh loves and really, really, really wants. I like having family names in the name.

All our kids will have 2 middle names I just only like to give one of them for privacy reasons. But that's so awesome that you're doing that too.

Makes it much more original ya know?

Oh, and I'm Irish too- love the names you picked.

I have four names and my daughter has four names as well so this little one will have to have four We've decided on a boy's name (from last pregnancy) but are completely stumped on a gi'rls name this time around. I'll tell you ladies our names because you're my internet friends
Blaise Liam Allyn Murray - my hubby LOVES the name Blaise and his name is William Allyn and he's Irish. I refuse to have a junior, so we'll use Liam instead of William - Allyn is his dad's middle name as well who passed away when he was a pre-teen and he adores! I also like the first name Sullivan and leave everything else the same....but i'd have to convience hubby of it!!!
Now, I have a LONG list of girls names but haven't settled on much. I like Willow, Sailor, Ella, and about 30 others that I don't have in front of me riight now....anybody else want to give me some good girlie names?!?

I wanted Moira as a middle name for a girl somewhat, but was vetoed b/c of my obvious (and DP thinks ill-intentioned) nod to my Peter Pan obsession. (Wendy Moira Angela Darling) I love it!

I adore Wolf! I like German boy's names and there are quite a few almost-wolf "normal" names that you might check out that you could sneak in as a first name!

On the other hand, my mom's name is that way, and while I think it annoys her sometimes, I do think that secretly she likes being just about the only one of "her" that there is.
I agree with your DH and your mother! Uncommon is good! And I'm a huge fan of LotR. And, as I'm sure you know, Eowyn is a very strong female role model!

For my little monster?
Thurston Reinhard D------
We'll call him Thor. He's already got a full comic and toy collection based on his own character!
Thurston we both loved, (DP b/c of Thurston Moore) and Reinhard is my dad's name. I am soooo excited about this name! We are both madly in love with it from the very beginning. (Now just let that jinx us into a surprise girl! )

Am I the only one who doesn't even have a list yet? I have a few in my head, but nothing concrete; DH and I have a hard time with this since every time I bring it up, he starts suggesting silly names. On our trip a couple weeks ago, I asked him and he started naming off street names we were passing.

DS wants to name the baby "Firefighter" and DD says Sophia. Luckily (?) we do have a middle name since we use DH's family name (Korean tradition) which is the same for all our kids. If it's a boy we will need another middle name though since DS has 2 (one is after my dad, who passed away when I was 13). We might use my dad's first name (William) as the first middle name since we used his middle name for DS. There is no one else we really would want to name the baby after, unless we use DH's name, but he's not too keen on that (his name is Henry).

i have the name but no agreement, lol!

its Jewish tradition to name after a relative so the first name will be dp's father's name who deceased before i met him. we wont be using that name though.

I have 2 middle names, and DS2 has 2 middle names... if I can pull one in at the hospital like I did with DS2, I think I will. But, this time I won't be at the hospital. It just fit him so perfectly when he was born that I had to add it to his name.

Katherine Elizabeth

No family name or anything... It's just a name that we had picked out when I was pregnant with my son. We still loved it so it got passed on to this baby!

My son, however does have a "family" name. I am a twin and my mother miscarried my twin brother. She named him Anthony Wayne. I promised my mother when I was 7 that I would name my 1st born son after my brother. My husband is named Robert Anthony and called Tony and didn't want a Tony Jr, so we used the name Wayne instead. So now I have a Christopher Wayne

Our little girl will be Ella Gray. Ella is for my sort-of grandma, Rosella. I say "sort-of" because she's not actually related to me! She was my next-door neighbor growing up, and I stayed at her house every single day as a child. She was more of a grandmother to me than either of my others (LONG family stories there!), and she is the person who potty trained me, taught me to read, took me to church, taught me to count/add/subtract, etc. You can see why I would want to name my child after her! My friend picked out the name Gray--we were having a difficult time finding a middle name that worked with Ella and our last name. Gray just sounds perfect! :

Our little girl will be Madeline Jeanne. We originally thought we'd use our girl name from DS's pregnancy (Kaitlyn), but DS didn't like it AT ALL! So one day we were all driving somewhere and I kept asking him, "well, how about *name*,' and he'd say no to all of them, until I came to Madeline. He loved it! So, apparently, DS has named his baby sister. However, he does NOT think her name should ever be shortened to Maddie/Mady. It's Madeline.

Madeline is not a family name, but Jeanne was my maternal grandmother's name, and DH's paternal grandmother is MaeJean. We figure we're honoring both sides that way.

Well, ds wanted to name his brother "Tornado" so we put Zephyr on the list. Ultimately we went to the "Boys names that don't suck V. 3.5" list before we came up with Malcolm David. I'm naming my son after Captian Malcolm Reynolds from Firefly/Serenity BUt David, Well... It was my father's name. And as much as I hate family names, it was easier than listening to my grandma whine for-ev-er. : And she's not even my father's mother, she's my mother's mother. AND She said "If you do, maybe they'll even give you more money" ARGH! But it's been decided and I'm sure it'll all work out in the end.
My hubby's family are all named William. It's his middle name, our nephew's name, his father's name, both of his grandfather's names, his uncle's name, at least one cousin, the list goes on. It gets confusing.

I am having the same problem over here! I think it may be because I vetoed the ONE name he wanted... Daniel, because my dad and my brother are both named Daniel, and what if my brother wants to use that name some day??? Plus, I am not too fond of that name, but it was dh's stepdad's name (and they have a really close bond)!!

So, yep, no name over here yet. DD says we should name him "baby"... so that is what we have been calling him for now!

We have a few possibilities, but have pretty much agreed not to decide until after the little on is here. I have been stuck on the name Elliott since we found out he is a boy - I just love it and can't get it out of my head. DH isn't totally fond of it, so we decided it would be his middle name. We have two first names we really like and keep switching back and forth which is the favorite. So, the littlest boy will either be Miles Elliott or Jareth Elliott. (Miles is after no one, and Jareth is, of course, after the Goblin King. *g*)

DH and I like Tyler for our son, although my daughter is waging a full-on campaign for Jake. But we'll 99% sure be doing Tyler, and maybe Tyler Jake.

Jesse Zachariah here - I never had a girls name.

i just knew that was his name before I knew he was a boy for sure.
The funny thing here is that he will be "Jesse, son of David" LOL...

In the Bible it is "David, son of Jesse"

Oh, I like Dexter with your middle name choices. I saw your other thread and have been thinking how cute "Dex" is ever since.

Charlotte, Rosalie, Adelle or Adella, Sophia....
I'm in your camp, in fact, your names are all on our list, too. We don't know if our lo is a boy or a girl yet, so we have like 40 possible names! I love Charlotte, but I already have a Charles, so I guess we'll cross that one off.
