On the off chance that I have a girl I like Eden Deniza. Deniza was my great-grandmas name and I have never heard anyone else named that.
I was watching the movie things we lost in the fire with Halle Barry last night and the little girls name was Harper. I added it to my girl list. You could always use Harper Eden Deniza or Eden Harper Deniza....

That's what I was thinking too. I love Killian, and Kellen, and Kalin.

Warning: rant ahead. I think I'm finally starting to get hormonal.

I am starting to get frustrated with this whole name thing. Dawned on me the other day that the names we're actively debating are the ones the husbandperson has suggested. He's shot down EVERY SINGLE NAME I've suggested bar Eleanor, and he's not even sure about that. I'm the one who's you know, actually growing the child, shouldn't my suggestions get some consideration too? :

Well no, that's not quite fair. We'll be giving a boy my dad's first name as a middle name, and the husbandperson did want to avoid family names. I think the only reason he's agreed is because my dad doesn't actually go by his first name. And because I've had my heart set on doing that since long before I met him. And because he doesn't really care about middle names. Otherwise, I'm sure he'd say no to it too.

JoSuelynn Jane

My sisters are Joelynn and Susan, and my mom's name is Jane. I may not capitalize the "S", but I haven't decided. I figure we can call her Josie for short, but I've been referring to her as JJ for awhile now...

My step-father had the perfect comeback to people who didn't like the name I picked (Malcolm David). Advise the husbandperson and any other family who want to make suggestions or want to rip on the names you like that if they were to put 100 grand in a trust fund for said child, and you'll name the baby whatever they want.

Actually, we got Malcolm because hubby couldn't come up with anything better for a week after I said it was what I liked.

I love that!! My family was me my mom & 2 sisters too & I think its so cool your putting it all together. I like the result too, and JJ is my favorite nickname. I tried so hard to come up with names that JJ could be a nickname (without success)

aw, thanks! I'm still going to pronounce it like you would "Jocelyn", I'm just customizing the spelling! I think my sister Sue is going to end up catching the baby for me, she's so excited!

We've chosen Eleanor Rose for a girl, after my grandmother, who's an amazing lady - in terms of nicknames my husband likes Ellie and I like Nell, so we'll see which one fits her best.

For a boy we like Anthony Joseph - Anthony is my husband's middle name and it was his father's and grandfather's name. We're not planning to use a nickname, but again it depends on what fits the baby best.

The name-choosing was actually pretty easy for us, fortunately.
