What kind of natural deodorant do you use?

Dh and I use Tom's of Maine, but it doesn't work very well. Is there a natural deodorant that you have used and would recommend?

I make my own and love it. I use equal parts baking soda, cornstarch, shea butter and coconut oil and a drop of tea tree oil. I keep it in the fridge and it's more like a solid that way, but it won't leave the white marks on your clothes. I smell fine into the evening unless I've been working out. I was afraid it would fail me yesterday at a wedding so I wore regular old Dove and guess what? The Dove failed me! I never should have doubted my homemade stuff.

Whoops, I just found almost the exact same post at the bottom of the page.

I had the same problem with Tom's of Maine until I tried the "longer lasting" formulas. They work better. It doesn't come in my favorite scent (calendula) but they make a really nice smelling lemongrass. It's a little harder to find, though.

The salt crystal type thing works best for me. I've tried tom's and it leaves me stinky after not too long The salt crystal thing works well though. And I bought it about 2 years ago, and it looks like it will last at least another year. $4 for 3 years - awesome deal i think!

I have tried SO many (tom's does NOTHING for me either)
This one:

is amazing!!!
I have tried the T'eo as well;and while it smells amazing, I shave my pits and this was a bit stinging if I used it immediately after showering. I ended up wrapping it in a peice of scrap lace and it made an awesome sachet.

Wow, uncanny.

I make the same stuff. Works like a charm. Bought some Dove from Target for a whole-day outing. Dove quit halfway through the day.

I never should have doubted my homemade stuff!!

The only commercial natural deodorant that really worked for me was Funk Butter by Oyin. Now, I make my own using the previously mentioned recipe (with orange oil instead of TTO because TTO gives me a headache) and it works just as well. DH loves my homemade stuff too!

For the AVG in some of those recipes, can you take that straight from the plant I'd assume....

And what exactly is shea butter?

nevermind...This is shea butter

I really like Trader Joe's brand deoderant. It leaves no residue and works really well for me. I also just slather on a bit of coconut oil sometimes, it works too.

I started using Tom's of Maine recently but am finding it doesn't work that well. I'm going to try the recipe abomgardner417 posted - thanks!

I also use Lush's Aromacreme. It works very well!

I believe the Funkbutter is similar.

I use Lafe's. I bought it at Whole Foods. I use the roll on, but they have solid too.

I was using tom's which worked fine in the winter, but not so well in the summer. Even Dove didn't work all day.

This stuff? It rocks! Really. All day, all summer.
