not much of a hooper, but I've been meaning to make one. We live in a very hoop-friendly place. I saw several vids on youtube from hooping folks I know. That fire one was wild! (not my area I don't think). They do teach hooping here, too. It's fun. I've done it successfully with the right hoop, but I really have to have a good one or it just ends up around my ankles. At my kid's school last spring a group of girls entered the talent show doing hooping!

How do you go about finding hoop groups or classes? The town I live in is fairly conservative,but I have easy access to more "free-thinking" areas

I love hooping too! I don't know tons of tricks, but I enjoy doing it Here's a link to my craigslist ad I have up right now for a bunch of my hoops that I made:

Oh hooping! I have a hoop stashed in my closet! It's been about a year or more since I've even dug it out. Guess what I'm doin' tomorrow?! I bet that would help shed some pregnancy pounds!

There are some offered at a local yoga place here. You might start there. Good luck!

Got my tubing & connectors at a local plumbing store. If I want 3/4" 160 psi I would have to look at the big stores.

Cool. I did find some stuff on YouTube. I watched one on hand hooping.

A video of me trying to do it would have been entertaining! No success. I'll keep trying. No classes in my area, but hopefully I can find someone to give me a few tips.

Cool...thanks for reposting that. I saw it somewhere around here, but I am too lazy to look for it.
I have now bookmarked it.
I am going to a music fest next weekend and I think I should make one before I go and make a total of myself while there!!!

You can go to Lowes or Home Depot or another home improvement store and buy black 1 inch irrigation tubing by the foot, and get connectors there too, in the same section, and make a circle, add some fun bicycle tape for decoration and HOOP! lol

I am thinking about getting more tubing. My 1st set of tubing was 1" 100 psi. The stuff for the next set I am think 3/4" 160 psi.

I have considered weighing it down a little too but afraid I will not use them much later bc they will be to heavy if I do that for tricks and stuff. I need to get out and hoop some. We have all been ill here so not much of it going on.
