This is seriously driving me crazy! I don't use regular deodorant. I use a mineral salt stick that looks like a roll on. I think maybe I exfoliated too much and irritated my underarms and I can't get them to just cut it out. I wipe lightly with a gentle soap or just water and they will seem like they are almost better and then get irritated again. Any advice on what to use to get them to completely heal?

wash gently and pat dry...use corn starch on your dry, tender arm pits. I had this when I had bursitis and could not raise my arms at all. The skin stuck together in the hot weather. Try to wear no shirt while you sleep and raise your arms.
Good luck with your little one later this month...

It is super super hot here too and my skin is so tender! You understand exactly where I'm coming from. Thank you.. it feels better just knowing someone else has BTDT! I will try the corn starch right away. I really want to get this under control before my lil' guy makes his appearance

I do not know if I had BTDT, whatever that can be, but I know that now that I am postmenopausal, my joints seem to need more TLC, and my skin just seems to hang and I am fatter in places I never knew could get bigger, like my underarms...
. After my children were born, I always noticed that I did indeed have breast tissue, under my arms, of all places...
. Brush your hair a lot since you have to reach up to do that.
With my bursitis, my skin stuck together in the folds in my armpits
and turned red, but exposing the skin to the dry air with corn starch helped. Getting rid of the bursitis with the physical therapy helped also. Really. Good Luck, mama.

I had to google bursitis.. I didn't know what that was. I think we have sensitive skin. My daughters skin gets very irritated in the folds of her arms, but it's not quite the same as what I have going on. Just general overall irritation. BTDT is just Been There Done That

My husband and I both used deodorant crystal stones for some time, then I developed burning armpits, and eventually he did too. We switched to the liquid crystal deodorants, and all has been well ever since. I like a roll-on liquid crystal and he likes the spray. We both use the Naturally Fresh Deodorant Crystal brand. You can buy this one at Target or Wal-mart for $3, and it works very well.
Hope you find a good solution!

Same here. Dh and I have been using Liquid Crystal for a long time now with no problems. The stick that you had to wet first caused irritation after awhile though.

Hmm maybe that's it. I kept thinking maybe I had just really irritated the skin by exfoliating too much, but I have been so gentle since I can't imagine that would still be the issue. I tried to google to see if anyone else was having reactions to the stick.. good to know I'm not the only one. I'll switch and see if it makes a difference - thank you!
