Short rows in a soaker?

Would short rows work better in a soaker instead of normal increases? I'm not really using a pattern but knitting a soaker in the round. And am contemplating how to work the increases in properly and it occured to me that maybe short rows would work. Now granted I am very much a novice, so if this makes no sense let me know that too .

I've seen both done. One of the LTK patterns has it with increases or with short rows or both. I'm sure there are other patterns but that one comes to mind.

The curly purly soaker uses them as well
