I went from "I think I'm having a contraction" to pushing four times to get him out in under two hours.
I made it to the hospital 20 minutes before I delivered (during shift change) completely effaced, dilated and +2, I had the L&D nurses hopping. An OB couldn't be found in time so they grabbed the CNM on the floor to catch. I kept hearing "She's been in labor how long? This is her first pregnancy?" over and over from all the nurses in the room. When my water broke (at home and all over everything else) it was dark green so I had NICU nurses and the on-call pediatrician along with both day and night shift L&D nurses in my room.
It was the biggest blur because it went so fast. When I finally pushed him out I was staring at the ceiling thinking "Did that really happen right now?" The man said I had the biggest look of relief when he came out. He also said that I dropped an incredible number of f-bombs in that last hour. Obviously I had no time for pain medication My abdomen never hurt, it was all pelvic pain/pressure. I have a small tear with four stitches.
Jack is lovely with wavy dark hair. Almost every nurse from my department came over to visit when I was in post partum, I felt loved. He's breast feeding fine, latching on without a problem but it takes forever for him to get satisfied. The pets are completely confused and just stare at him.
Edit: No circ and no hep B. Was asked once and never bothered about it again.
