How to remove sticky label?

Hi,
I took off a very sticky label off from a wooden high chair. The sticky glue is still there leaving black marks. I tried vinegar, baking soda and soap to scrape it out, but nothing helps. What else can I try? Thanks!

Use an oil of some description - olive oil, vegetable oil, jojoba oil - just what ever you have to hand. Put some on a cloth and gently rub the 'sticky' area, it should do the trick nicely

rubbing alchol (sp?)

Try a hairdryer on hot. It removes sticky labels easier than anything, but I"m not sure how it will work on residue.

I have always used oil.

Peanut butter! Especially natural peanut butter. It has lots of oil in it to soften the adhesive, and the little ground peanut bits act as a very mild abrasive to help rub it off. Works like a charm!

tea tree oil rubbed with your finger will take it right off:

Goo Gone should do it if the oil won't.

Rubbing alcohol works good. It can help to pour on a lot and let it sit a minute or two. Good idea about the tea tree oil, I'll have to try that!

I agree, some light oil first and it that doesn't work, rubbing alcohol. Good luck.
