it's early but...Halloween costume ideas?

i have a terrible time thinking of costume ideas. this year i am going to a masquerade party held after a ballet--so i need something that will be comfortable to sit in for 2+ hours, something free of props that would block someone's view. (the party happens 2 weeks before halloween, and i'm starting a new job, so it feels urgent.)

i do not have a sewing machine, but was thinking i could borrow one for something very simple like a cape? (i have no machine experience.)

You could go as Frida Kahlo with some prairie skirts and shawls from the thrift store.

The two youngest are going to be a bumble-bee and a butterfly. I'm going to make them tutu's for it, and some wings.
