The most awsome NP ever

We have a wonderful Nurse practioner for ds, she is part of a large pediatric practice, but we never see the doctor and try not to ever take ds in unless Heidi is there. So when we went last week for ds 3 year well visit, one of the questions we had for her was if she could do the new baby's first visit, or would we have to see the physicians for a first visit, and I was overjoyed when she told us that she would do it and new baby would never have to see the doctors, not that we have any problem with them at all. She asked where we were planning on having the baby and we told her at home, and she she nodded approvingly, never giving us any of that is dangerous stuff, asked if we had found a good midwife, and told me she knew I could do it, and call her right afterwards and she would get the baby in to see her and check him/her over. It was so wonderful to not be judged for the choices we make for our family. Dp and I have always been so happy with her as she has always been supportive of our two mom family, our choice to not circ and not vax. She has never pushed anything on us, always asked what we thought would work best for ds, and always laid out treatment options for whatever problem he was having, never trying to pressure us into anything. When she found out we had been kicked from the allergist office for not giving ds his Prevnar vaccine she totally agreed he did not need it, and gave us a referral to a new allergist and told us to just call he if we needed anything in between. I wish the world had more Heidi's as she is what doctors and NP everywhere need to model after

This is our Pedi exactly. i mentioned needing to have a spot available for babytwo in March and she asked where I would be delivering. I said at home and she automatically assumed UC. When I mentioned a MW, she seemed a little relieved, but never went into the whole scare tactic thing at all. She did ask about the Vit K and eye goop and if hte MW could do them. The nshe just said to come in on day 3 or whatever their normal is. I am so happy we found her. There are actually 2 in her practive that i love. The other 2 are kinda not as flexalbe and i don't ever see them.

Yay! My DH is applying to be a Physician's Assistant, and wants to grow up to be the "cool doctor" like that.
