Does Anyone Out There Love Their Electric Oven? - Page 3

We have a dual fuel range and I love it. Gas cooktop and electric oven in one contraption, complete with two baking stones that live in it. Convection included. The other thing to look for in gas cooktops is knobs that go from off to light to high and then around to low so when you are trying to put the flame to a low simmer, turning the knob as low as it will go will not turn it off (like a knob that's set up off-light-low-high can).

If the place is available, I'd take it!

I've had both and I like electric better. I'm a person who loves to cook. I don't dislike the way gas stoves cook, but I loathe cleaning the grates--it takes forever and turns my hands into mush.

I have this one from the Kenmore Elite line. It's got 5 gas burners on top, and an electric, with optional convection, oven. I really like it a lot, although after cooking with a gas oven for years, I do find I'm still adjusting.

It's not ridiculously expensive new, but we got an even better deal ($800) at a Sears "scratch and dent" outlet. That's also where we got our $2000 french door fridge for less than half price!

Ours is a GE that we picked up at Lowe's for half-price; it was the floor model. I wasn't even looking for it, I don't think I knew they existed and was just browsing one day, needing to replace all the appliances in our house and ta-da! There it was.
