How is the weather in Portland?

We are heading up there later this week (driving from the SF Bay Area) and want to get an idea of the weather this time of year. I know about weather.com, but they don’t always seem very accurate to me.

Mild? Hot? Cool?

it's about 80 right now, friday and sat suppose to be in the 90's and then Sun, upper 80s. then cooling off to upper 70's starting on mon. I would say that it being Aug. it would be normal for us to have a couple of "hot" days and then mild days around it.

right this very moment just outside of PDX the sky is blue blue blue no clouds, slight breeze and temp is 91. its GORGEOUS out.
shorts and tank top kind of day.
BUT, just two days ago it was overcast, muggy and yucky feeling. i have found weather.com to be pretty accurate for our weather around here.

I hate anything higher than 80 so 91 is waaay too hot for me. We should be gettin in Saturday morning (staying overnight in Eugene). Its good to have an idea of what to pack.

Thank you everyone!

I've found that weather.com is more accurate for up here than it was for down there. I have no idea why. So you might be able to trust them. I also often get the weather from www.kptv.com they seem to be the most accurate of the local stations, but they can be off sometimes.

My best advice is to pack for everything. The other morning ds and I had to put on sweatshirts to go outside to play, by lunch we were in shorts and tank tops, and by bedtime we were cold enough to change back into pants. The temperature ranges up here way more than in the SFBA.

Hope you have a fun and safe trip!

I think its harder to trust weather.com in my area is because we have sooo many microclimates. I can be at home (Berkeley hills) and it can be 85 degrees and about 5-10 cooler just a couple of miles down the hill. Not to mention the up to 50 degree differences in the entire Bay Area. Freezing cold in Half Moon Bay and 100 degrees in Walnut Creek for instance.

I will pack for everything! (just like we do out here)

Thankfully, we do have a pool where we are staying. Thanks for the offer!

Going north on I5 (from the Bay Area) yesterday, it got up to 115 on certain points (our car has an outside temp feature). Unfortunatly, we had to stop at some point to use the bathroom and snack.

I wish I knew you were in Eugene. I live here. How are you liking the thunder/lightning? Crazy. I thought I remembered you from TTC after loss boards. Unfortunately.

omg. it should be a crime to not install a/c in any building intended for human habitation.

We stayed in Eugene Friday night and had breakfast before leaving to go up to Portland in the early afternoon. It seems like nice town (I never been before).

I remember you too.
