T ideas for an uncrafty mama

I want to make ds a t-shirt that says "born at home" on the front and "daddy caught me" on the back. I've tried using fabric paint before, and the shirts came out less than spectacular.

Anyone have suggestions about what kind of paint to use or how to use it or any other way of going about this?

I really have no crafting ability whatsoever. Please help.

TIA!

The easier way is to use fabric markers that can be found a http://www.dharmatrading.com/ or from a local craft store like Joannes. They are easy to use and usually you use heat to set from your iron.

Hope this helps!

I just made DS and I T-Shirts for our local World Breastfeeding Week celebration. I used clear contact paper and drew the letters I wanted in block form on the contact paper. I then cut the letters out with an exacto knife and stuck the remaining stencil onto the shirt. I then painted on fabric paint onto the stencil and removed the stencil. They almost looked professional! Super easy too. The only hard part is that you can't exactly make letters with holes in the middles (like a letter P) with the contact paper stencil. You can sort of put a dab of paint in the letter though to make it look like the letter, or you can have it be part of your font.

Easy Peasy!

I may actually do a few more for DS for Christmas gifts. I already bought him some blank white onesies, so spiffing them up with some cute sayings or pics could be fun.

I've made my kids t-shirts with iron on transfers. I printed off a design and a saying with my home printer and just ironed it on there. I have a picture somewhere, I'll have to dig it up.

Here's the design I did. I tye dyed the shirts first then added this.

: These are great ideas. Thanks! Dh is really more crafty than I am, so I should ask him to help, too.

I second the iron on transfers. You can whip anything up on your computer - print on the transfer - iron on the shirt. It's really, really easy.
