Can I brag?

I know most mama's here are knitting MUCH cooler stuff than me...

But I have to brag about this...

I JUST started knitting, this is the VERY first thing I've ever knitted :

Yeah, it's not real nice, it's warped and not in perfect form...and right now it's just a wonky looking almost square...it's the beginnings of a scarf for my DD (I already made her a hat in purple...with my knifty knitter)

So here is my first (and only) brag post in Yarn Crafts!!

The start of the very first thing I've EVER knitted (like with real needles and junk)!!!

Good job, mama!

The knitting will only get straighter and more even as you keep up with it. So don't stress or discount your efforts....you've done something fun and amazing.

What I like best about knitting for my kids is that they don't notice my newbie experiments and "mistakes."

Great job! I always love seeing the beginnings of a knitter. Before we know it you'll be posting all kinds of intricate fair isle, cables and whatnot....

Congrats!! It will only get better and better!!

Nice job! It looks like you've avoided the classic beginner "35 unintended yarnovers by row 10" issue, as well as the "7 dropped stitches by row 5" problem. See how well you're doing?

Thanks mamas!!

I was so excited because I seriously had some sort of mental block on knitting for YEARS.

I tried and tried and tried and just never could get it. Finally I got it. I also figured out mid-scarf how to tighten the row up so it's not all gappy. LOL

Congratulations! It's a little uneven, but I'll bet you can mostly block that out. Great job!

Enjoy!

You can totally brag!!

What's more, is that my first yarn when I learned to knit was just about that same color purple!

Keep going, sister!

Thanks mamas!!

I have high hopes for all the cool stuff I can make in a couple years...

My mom has been knitting for YEARS, at least 20 years (she's 44, started knitting when she was a teenager...I know she knit a blanket for me when she was pg) and all she can make are blankets and scarves...of course I'm not sure if she's sat down and tried to make anything else, I bet if she had a pattern she could figure something out.

Yay for you!! I tried to teach myself to knit this winter and couldn't get the hang of it. I respect anybody who can figure it out.
