Daily-Tuesday August 12th!

selfish request, lol~~~Please let this be my day!~~~

Morning, mamas!:

I'm definitely getting closer. I was up for a few hours last night with regular contractions, but managed to sleep between, and had a ton of pretty regular ones yesterday...I see my MW this morning, so maybe she can offer some insight! She offered a stretch and sweep, but I'm not sure-I kind of feel like if baby is ready, baby will come. I wonder if he/she is just waiting for me to reach my breaking point, so that I will be that much more excited to meet him/her?! Messing with me already...

Anyway-what are you up to today? Anyone still working (or playing hooky?)

Good Morning! I am here and will be I'm sure since I am due at the end of Aug start of Sept. I am really hoping to go a little early but not counting on it. Dh told me he thinks I will go until Sept 5th or 7th. ARGH :
I am bummed because my chiropractor will be closed for the whole week of Aug 25 till Sept 2nd. So the last time I will be able to go is the 24th. I was hoping to be able to go in early labor but we'll see.
Taking ds to the zoo again today since the weather is kind of cool. He wants to see the manatees.

41 weeks today.
I did castor oil last night. It was really not too bad for me... took the first 2oz. at 6pm and nothing happened, not even gas, took 2nd dose at 10 pm and went to bed. From 2:30-3:30 the cleaning commenced... was truly not that terrible for me, I never got cramps or nausea or anything, I just had to sit through it, and I am a little sore there this morning but very minor. From 3:30-4:30 I had some really good contractions and I laid awake in bed because I was too excited to sleep... but I convinced myself that I could just get some more rest and then wake up and be in labor. I did get more rest and got up at 7:30 - but no labor yet! No more contractions even. How long is it supposed to take???? Ha well anyways I count myself lucky that the CO did not seriously screw with me like so many others... but COME ON, where the F is labor?????????

I'm still here, too and working. Friday is my last day, then no job to come back to, but at least I'll be able to be home with the babe Been having some little contractions, but nothing earth shattering. Going to see my neighbor who's a chiro for the 1st time and he & his wife are positive I'll have my little man here by next week once they work their magic

I'm not used to all of the pain & pressure I've been feeling lately, so maybe something is starting to happen after all. I'll be happy when I can walk normally again

so, around here, the house is clean--i just have one closet left to finish and a friend is coming to help out today. she should be here in about half an hour.

we'll spend the day getting the closet cleaned out and reogranized, then tomorrow afternoon i begin on organizing (washing putting away) the baby clothes, and that's the end of that.

the contractor comes on friday to finish the paint issues here; the vent cleaners also come on friday; and then the cleaning lady starts next week!

life is really nice around here.

oh, and i have to put up a towel rack and the new roller shades downstairs!

zoebird, you really sound on top of things! I decided my house will never be as spotless as I want.

I'm still working, and will continue to do so up until labor starts. I get 15 weeks of maternity leave and want to make that last as long as possible.

Well, it's weird. I don't know if I got any more sleep than I have been last night, but it must have been better quality sleep because I feel 10x better today than I have in awhile. So much better that I was actually at work and working by 7am. Geez.

I'm ignoring the fact that I'm pregnant at all - it's just too tiring keeping track of every twinge and cramp.

So many August babies already! Hard to believe we're *almost* halfway through the month!

I'm Complaining

Well, bloody show was quite a while ago and nothing yet. Just some cramps and gas, cramps and gas, and then some more cramps and gas. :

I'm sick of having all these "signs" and no real contractions. I mean seriously, WTF was that prodromal labor a month ago that amounted to nothing? It was there for a day and then it was GONE. And they were good contractions too, got me effaced and the baby engaged. One day, then it stopped and now the baby has disengaged and you know my cervix probably un-effaced. I don't even know if that's possible but I wouldn't be surprised.

Grrrr.... My due date is 2 days away. I would have been so OK with being patient until 41 weeks, but these constant fake outs have worn me down and now I'm getting impatient.

I'm here! Today is the one day my DH doesn't want me to go into labor (big lunch meeting that his coworker isn't here to back him up on), so maybe it will be today. Usually how that works, right? I'm having some mild period like crampy feelings every once in a while, but they aren't regular. TMI, I'm having loose bowels this morning, so that's got me a bit freaked!

Most of all I just want to get rid of the ridiculous heartburn I'm having and this stupid headache. I've got a headache that starts about 9am each morning and lasts until I go to bed. Not bad, just annoying. And there is one teeny spot on the back of my head that feels like someone is pushing their finger into my brain. It's freaking me out, got me wondering if I have a brain tumor or something. If that doesn't go away once the baby is born I'm going to have to get it checked out. It's been happening about 2 weeks now. My BP is fine, it's not related to that thankfully.

Where is Shiloh today? :

I'm still here. Just had a home visit from the midwife. Baby is in a great position now (LOA). Yay! I am 40+3.
I just found out that my Midwife will be away this weekend. I was initially predicting that baby would be born this weekend on the full moon. Now, I hope not! Hopefully before Thursday or after Tuesday.
I lost my mucous plug last night :. I know that it doesn't necessarily mean anything, but to me, it means something. At least my body is headed in the right direction. I was starting to feel like nothing was ever going to happen. Now I just need some great contractions to get thiws show on the road!
I hope today is your day, Fridgeart!

Good luck, Fridgeart!!

I have been having (still) lots of non-painful irregular ctrx - they just sorta take my breath. But, last night I woke up twice with painful cntrx -- an hour apart probably. Soooo, I guess that means it will be sometime in the next couple weeks.

So much for intuition....

Baby is in a good position, BP is a little up, loose stools (ummm....yay?)

But...
only 1cm dilated, 80% and -3.
DH and MW were both saying that the dilation/effacement could've just happened in the last 12 hours, so it *could* mean things are going, but 1cm and -3 are all I hear...
Although if I think about it, last time around it took me forever to get completely effaced, and then I went from 1 cm to 8cm in about 4 hours (and pushing her out just a little after that), so....maybe.

DH has instructed me (and I will do so!) to go chillax away from our rambunctions 3 year old, in the hopes that I'm just distracted. So I'm going to go bounce around on my exercise ball and read books, and try not to think about what my body is/is not doing.
Thanks for all the good wishes though!

Blech, I feel rotten today, but I'm trying to have a good attitude. My 17 mo nursed and cried ALL night, and I just went on the toddler forum and found out that a 18 mo sleep regression is normal!!!: I only got 2 months of sleeping through the night!

Anyways, dtd last night and had some bloody show, but we all know that could mean absolutely nothin'.

Hope everyone else is having a better morning than I am!

oooh, yeah, where *is* Shiloh???
Good morning!

Just got back from the doc. I was too curious so I asked for cervical check.

Not dilated, but I was sort of expecting it. When we were "laboring" Saturday night, New Baby was extremely active with every contraction -- shifting around and such. So I figured that s/he was trying to get in a better position. (Unfortunately, I think the position s/he settled on is posterior GRRR)

But baby did drop just a smidge. Was floating high in my belly and we're now at -3 station, which isn't anything spectacular, but let's me know that at least the contractions were doing their job.

He didn't even want to check fluid level so I suppose it's no longer an issue. I'm not worried about it; so if he's not, I'm not asking.

37w4d today so I still have some time to go.

40+

fridgeart I think we're on sort of similar rhythms. I was up last night with contractions, too! It feels like things are headed in the right direction, but not necessarily imminent (though I can't help but get my hopes up). Last night was the first night I've been woken from a deep sleep by contractions, and they were definitely productive feeling, if not really ever ramped up to hard-to-talk through.

I had my appointment yesterday; 3 cm, "somewhat effaced," baby "low and engaged, but not crazy low." Not fabulous- the last two times I walked around at 3 forever, and it was effacing that took a while. My babies tend to pop up and down, so the low/not low thing doesn't get me. I did consent to have my membranes swept. All the third babies I know have been extraordinarily late relative to the first two and, ummm, I am not keen on sitting around like this for weeks more. Doesn't seem to have taken, though, so whatever.

Today is my due date. I was having regular contractions last night that lasted from 11:30 to 2:30...then nada. Me and hubby even tried to help things along. To no avail. Now we are both exhausted and he is a grump! Got up though and started cleaning right away...hmmmmm.

Anyone else in week 39 with basically no signs whatsoever that your baby is ever going to come out?
I mean, my cervix is soft and definitely more open. But Aka_chan's still way up high, I've had only the most gentle and tentative of tightening in my uterus (and hardly ever), and not a sign that the nesting instincts from back in month 7 are coming back.
It's your first, right? Generally you get fewer signs before things really kick off with your first.

On the plus side you won't get much in the way of afterpains, either, though! I'm super excited for labor to start and experiencing whatever it throws my way, but am already dreading afterpains. yech.
