Have you made your birth bead necklace? Let's see!

For those who participated in the birth bead swap, have you made your necklaces yet? I finally bought the necessary supplies to string them but I've found some of the bead holes really tiny and I couldn't get them on (a pretty thin piece of suede-like material). I'd love to hear what you strung yours with and see pictures of the end result if you've finished it.

I made mine! I love it...it's beads from our DDC swap and from my Mother Blessing. I have a friend who beads and she told me to get 30lb fishing line to string it. I bought a toggle closure from a local bead store. They told me it could be tied close. My friend used some little closures at the end instead of just tying it.

Here's a picture of mine:

I didn't put the pretty leaf bead in but I do have it

I did! Love it. My MIL makes jewlery; so I just stole from her stash. hehehe. I also used fishing line, and a chain clasp (the only one I could find) and added a few random beads here and there.

I made mine a while ago, which reminds me, I need to put it with my birth supplies. Here it is.

I had some issues with tiny little holes too and ended up using Gutermaan buttonhole thread to string mine onto. Some of the bead holes were small enough that I had to unthread the needle and wax the thread to get it threaded, but I managed!

I had some reddish-colored beading thread I used that barely made it through some of the holes. I used an extra long piece of thread so I could cut off the unraveling end often, and I tied knots in between all the beads. I'll post a picture later today!

I've already found the necklace very helpful when I'm feeling anxious and can't sleep... I just hold the necklace and think of all the women who are in this with me, and I can relax and sleep. One morning I woke up to DD wearing it, though!

My wonderful friend Leila made my birth necklace for me. She added some awesome purple spacers (my favorite color) and 4 beads for my kids around the central feather. The blue cut stone for my oldest son, the purple rough stone for my second son Henning, the tiny pink sea pearl for the baby we lost and the larger white stone for the baby that is to come. I love it. Thank you all...

Gorgeous necklaces everyone, you're giving me inspiration for how to put mine together. Yay for birth beads! :

I'll be stringing mine this weekend. I'm waiting to get the bead from my best friend and my mom. Then I'm raiding my mom's jewelery making supplies for line and clasps. Thanks for giving me some inspirations!

I crocheted some wire - and it looked great for about 10 minutes, when the clasp broke off. So I need to re-do it and re-think the wire/clasp situation.... Hmmm...

Okay, I feel so un-fancy now! Here's mine, on dental floss, lol!
