Outgrowing maternity clothes

Well, this is depressing, but I should have expected it since it happened last time, too. I'm 28 weeks, and I'm outgrowing my maternity clothes. I was hoping to make it at least through the summer so I wouldn't have to buy new summer clothes...at least they're on sale now, though!

Funny/pathetic story from this morning: I put on a pair of capris that I have that are getting too tight, but I figured I'd be ok once I got going. Well, by the time we got to the mall, I was so uncomfortable that I went to Old Navy, got the exact same pair in the next bigger size and changed into them

Feeling the pain! All the weight I have gained is in my butt and thighs.

Most of mine are still fitting in the butt and thighs, but some are getting really tight around the waist! I have some pants in the next size up, but no capris. Hopefully, I can bear the waist until it's cold enough for pants!

*hugs* mama, I hear you!!! My butt and thighs are getting ridiculous...no seriously. I have one pair of shorts that still feel nice, essentially because the leg holes are large enough to fit a small village, but aside from those, I have been rocking the skirts and dresses because my capris *rofl* well, let's just say that I can slip my lower half into them, but I fear that if I squat or bend the overworked little seams will revolt and show the world waaaaaay more skin than is necessary...and my cute denim short? *snort* I feel like I am wearing some kind of torture device when I sit in them...lol.

29 weeks here... and I've been having the same problem for a couple of weeks. Mostly in the shirts department. Maternity shirts that were fitting me not too long ago are now waaayy too short! *sigh* I hate maternity clothes.

I can't tell you how many times I have done the exact same thing! It's just too much to handle! LOL

All of my shirts are too short. GRRRR

I told myself that this pg I was going to be the hip, sexy pg woman and actually wear clothes that FIT and looked good on me. I COULD CARE LESS RIGHT NOW! LOL! All I want to wear are clothes that don't touch me. I wear dresses A LOT now bc it just hangs on you, and you hardly feel it. Or I walk around in panties and sports bra.

Too bad one can't get away with living in knit capris and sweat pants all the time...not very professional for work tho!

I'm having a problem with shirts being too short, too.

I practically live in knit capris...

I sooo feel you. I have mostly given up on pants and live in summer dresses now. I just bought extra large regular summer dresses that are empire waist and hemmed the sleeves. Much cheaper!

Yeah, why do they make maternity shirts so short? I don't feel the need to share my belly or the elastic tops of my maternity pants with the whole world. I actually have a maternity shirt where the front is shorter than the back

please I beg for some LOOOOONG maternity shirts that don't shrink up after the first washing. Im still fine in my matronly classic belly panel jeans but not a shirt I have will cover it and the bella bands just aren't right for my plus size belly....ah well, 3 months to go.

Ive outgrown a few of mine too but they were pretty small pants. Im still fitting into my size 4s(normally 2s) but theyre tight. Ive gained 23 lbs so far though eeek.

I'm right here with you all!!! I've put on 40lbs : so far and I am just 25 weeks. I can't fit into any shorts, I've resorted to a dress and a couple of skirts. My mom and sister brought me shopping for my birthday (I was in desperate need of a new, ok a BIGGER bra) the sales lady measured me....I went from a 34A to a 38D!!!!! Now, this is not too unusal for me as this is my 3rd and this has happened before, however, this is the size I was AT THE END of my pregnancy NOT at 25 weeks!!! Well, atleast I have boobs now

totally!
the "T&A" fairy was rather too good to me.
though DH loooves the new boobies, i look forward to not bouncing so much....

OK, I have a mini stepper and it seems to be helping in keeping butt growth to a minimum. Normally by now I would have out grown my current trousers but I am still in them which can only be a good thing. I have gone from a UK size 10/12 to a UK 16. My Doc says that judging by my previous pregnancies and my family history, I am unfortunutely, in that group of women who just gain a tonne of fat every pregnancy.

I guess its kind alright from a evolutionary point of view, I suppose that if you start out as being kinda small and gain not a lot and a sudden food crisis hits, then those who have gained a lott are in a better position for continuing pregnancies. I just wish my body realised that we aren'tt in those circumstances right now lol.

my problem is shirts. It's SO irritating that MATERNITY shirts are too short to wear the whole duration of your pregnancy : . Isn't that why we pay EXTRA for them? I mean, I'm not shopping at Pea in the Pod or anything (hello, $60 tank tops, lol). However, I don't normally pay $25+ for a top, but my wonderful mother took me shopping a few months ago to buy a bunch of maternity clothes and now the only ones that still *sometimes* cover my belly are the ribbed tank tops I bought from Old Navy. All my motherhood tops are too short or will be in the next week.

Here's how well my mat clothes are fitting:

I have friends coming over this am, so I got up, took a shower, fixed my hair, and put on a clean pair of pjs. Thankfully, they all have little ones, and Iknow they are going to understand!!!!

A friend just recently gifted me her maternity wardrobe, cause she's done. Luckily, she's like me, and outgrew her medium stuff and needed to go into large. So I luckily have the next size up just as I'm outgrowing my regular stuff!

I'm with all the pps on the shirts though. I can buy regular stretchy tops that don't shrink with a single wash, why do maternity shirts always shrink in length every time you wash them? Who came up with the idea that pregnant women want to handwash every item of clothing? Must have been a man, right?

I think I will need to invest in a couple of stretchy maternity t-shirts in the next size to get me through the next 11 weeks. At least the stuff they're selling here is all now and after-they claim I'll be able to wear it after baby is born too, because supposedly it retains the stretchiness. We'll see.

I can totally hop on this bandwagon! I am hating myself right now. I haven't gained that much weight (20-25lbs maybe?), but all that I have has gone straight to the butt/thighs. Thankfully I am now done with work, so my first order of business is to get a pair of elastic-waisted cotton pants and some extra-large shirts, b/c DH's are all too tight in the belly now. :'(
