what are you doing for nausea?

any of you have it yet? mine's in full force, though no puking yet.

what remedies have you found?
Mine definitely isn't full force, but about 1-2 hours after breakfast I tend to get a little queasy and have to drink a ginger ale, then I'm fine. I have a friend who had hyperemesis while pregnant and she swore by keeping a green apple on your nightstand. She said she'd take a bite every time she woke up to pee and it really limited the m/s.

I also carry nuts and berries (dried cranberries and almonds or pecans) in my purse. Grazing is a good thing.

I've been nauseous all day, but no vomiting yet. Small amounts of food every two hours seems to help some. I'm planning on buying some ginger tonight to try some fresh ginger tea; hopefully that will help!

Higher amounts of protein seem to be helping me. Yesterday, after my buffalo chicken salad, I felt worlds better.

I'm also having bi-weekly acupuncture treatments. I'd go weekly if it weren't so costly.

The nausea seems to come and go (no vomitting, yet) and seems to be relieved by eating or drinking something (other than plain water-- water with lime seems to work), but the bottom line seems to be that I need to eat something at least every 2-3 hours or my stomach gets grumbly.

ive been eating small meals for my super mild nausea. ive been very hungry throughout the day though and trying to snack on fruits and veggies. im not looking forward to the real nausea to set in!

Yuck! I have been throwing up non-stop for a week now.

Protein does seem to help, but it so hard to force feed myself when I KNOW I am going to throw up.

I have also been drinking Morning Wellness Tea (Earth Momma Baby) which a friend bought for me, and it seems to be helping.

Small frequent meals for me too. I find that I go from mildly hungry to about-to-pass-out within five minutes, so I heed those hunger grumbles *immediately.* I also realized that eating too much causes nausea instantly, so I am eating much smaller portions and that's helped a lot.

I have found a new addiction: jalepeno cilantro hummus on triscuits. Oh my GAWD, it's the best thing ever. Even better with some fresh spinach and a little morsel of turkey. : In fact, gotta go eat some right now!

I wanted to recommend Rainbow Light prenatal vitamins.

Not only are they great vitamins (and readily absorbed by the body since they are whole food) but they really help with nausea. They have an herbal complex in them with ginger to help with nausea.

They have a one a day and a six a day one. I know six a day seems like a lot, but I took 2 with each meal and prefer it because I get that ginger boost 3 times a day and I think its probably more useable to the body to get doses throughout the day. I found with Milena, I got nauseous in the afternoon, and when I took the vitamin it went away.

I don't work for the company, I promise! I just know that my best friend worked at Whole Foods and they really recommend that brand of vitamins. I like their protein powder too.

XOXO

My MW actually told me about these lollipops - called B-natal. They have extra vitamin b in them, and they actually have helped! I also have found on days when I exercise I am less green and less tired.

We'll get through this!!

Beth, I take Rainbow Light, too (the 6x day kind) and they are definitely easier to handle than the prescription prenatals I took my last pregnancy. I'm happy with them so far!

I'm new to the boards and I have to say that I really like this one! I have been having nausea as well...some days are better than others!! Beth are those vitamins only found at a certain store? I need to check them out! I have a Rx prenatal now and I couldn't take it last night due to feeling so bad!!! Also do any of your midwives recommend taking more folic acid than what's in your prenatal?

This helped me during my first pregnancy (had nausea for about 2 weeks). DH just grated it(or sliced thinly sometimes) in water to boil. I just drank it w/o sweetner sometimes other times I added a little honey.

i take the rainbow light 1 a days but those fuckers are ENORMOUS!! pardon the potty mouth. i curse like a sailor. do sailors really curse that much?? anyway, yeah those things are like horse pills!!

weirdly, I sniffed a bunch of fresh ginger last night (DH was making stir fry), and it helped me SO MUCH. I am nauseated 24/7, but not vomiting a whole lot ATM.

I'm feeling horrible Spent much of the morning on the bathroom floor, nauseous, dizzy, and covered in sweat. I managed to get up and get a bit of food and headed over to the pharmacy for seabands. They seem to be helping some. I can totally handle the all day nausea I was having, but I"m not sure how I can manage a repeat of this morning, especially if it lasts several weeks.

Any suggestions?

oh no nicole!!!

the seabands are helping me too (thank goodness)

if you can, i'd try the unisom w/b6 if i were you. unisom REEEEEALLY helps with nausea, though it can sometimes knock you on your ass with fatigue. but omg it SAVED MY LIFE when i was so sick with ava.

you can also check out prescription stuff (zofran, reglan)

For slight nausea or if I catch it "early", I take a couple whiffs of my Origins Sensory Therapy "Peace of Mind" diffuser.

I've avoided a repeat of yesterday (so far) perhaps the seabands are working. DH brought me some crackers and water to eat in bed this morning too.

IncaMama, do you know if it would help to just take B6? With three boys running around getting knocked out by the unisom could be dangerous

yeah, i believe that b6 is helpful no matter what, but the combo of unisom and b6 is particularly helpful.

can you give the combo a try on a weekend or when you have help with the kiddos? so if you need to just crash you can? with my first two pregnancies, it NEVER made me exhausted. truly. i couldn't tell the difference, really. this time around - not the case. LOL

the seabands are really helping me today too. i haven't really felt much nausea at all yet. and i woke up today feeling great. i had a quick bite to eat and then was ok for a couple hours...now i just had a real breakfast and am sucking on a little butterscotch candy to keep myself feelin' good.
