Entertainment Tonight dedicated a short segment to Brooke on location shooting her commericial for the Bright(?) Beginings formula company. :Puke

Wasnt there a thread a while ago about this? Wasnt she breastfeeding?
If she was or is, that was neatly left out.

Blech! When are we going to see celebrrites doing commercials for the promotion of breastfeeding!?

oh how awful! And just yesterday I saw a great photo of her carrying her baby in a sling and thought " oh! great attachment parenting model!". Oh well

you'd think that since she struggled with infertility and endured miscarriages and multiple IVF attempts that she would treasure her ability to nurse and keep it going as long as she could.
maybe she's weaned and maybe she hasn't but that is certainly the idea she is promoting by doing a formula ad. i guess she's got to earn a living somehow, but couldn't she promote baby clothes or a toy or thermometers or a diaper bag or slings or car seats or any one of a number of products for babies and parents without sabotaging breastfeeding?

When someone starts paying them to breastfeed. it is sad but a true fact. Mother nature is only handing the benifits of breastfeeding to babies and mommies in health benifits, not cash.

I just realized who makes that formula... Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, same as the store brand that was mentioned (advertised) on the Dr. Sears website.

I know it's not a commercial but we can't forget the Lucy Lawless breastfeeding poster! It was beautiful, does anyone know how long she nursed or if she still is?

And Tori Amos talking about how her breastmilk was worth its weight in gold!

How could I forget about Lucy?! I never missed Zena and I did see that pic of her nursing and it is beautiful. Thanks for reminding me of the other moms out there.
I also read about Ana Gastyer, (sp?) she is a happy breastfeeding mama.

i heard that last night...as i was listening to the tv from the other room where i was, ironically, breastfeeding dd.

that disgusts me. i never liked her anyway, but now i really REALLLY dislike her. i have no respect for someone who would "push" formula. we need more breastfeeding advocacy, and LESS formula pushing.

(bright beginnings? what the heck is so "bright" about it?!)

Michelle Pfeiffer breastfed her kids. What we need is a celebrity "Got Breastmilk?" campaign. That might get through where all other efforts have failed.

Meanwhile, a pox on Brooke Shields for setting us all back a few decades. What a nincompoop :
