Long Island Mamas??!! - Page 8

Whoops. guess I missed that one.

Phew. My baby just took her sweet time (1 hr.) nursing to sleep. I thought I was going to lose it! Sometimes I just need a break (I threw my back out last night so my patience isn't what it should be...).

Best!

I threw my back out this weekend, too. This is a first for met--I've never had pain like this before--it's in my left lower back and is killing me, and not going away quickly enough. Pain like this really makes it hard to keep your patience, I agree...

Thanks, ugh, it's still pretty bad. Plus I cracked my keppe (head) on a cabinet when getting up from the dishwasher while making dinner. Very bad scene, baby crying to be held, dd1 whining to "help", mommy feeling like she was going to LOSE it. Then the baby took over an hour to settle down and go to sleep.

UGH!

Sigh. But she's so darn cute and just cuddles into me.

In-laws are coming tomorrow and we are super busy until the middle of next week, but sign me up asap after that! I need some ap real life encouragement!

If you're real close by, we would love a quick playdate at Cedarhurst park or North Woodmere park!

Best, Nicole

OK mamas the weather is a little bit tricky - it's humid, it's sticky, looks like gona rain any minute, but anyway we can't seat in the house . So maybe tomorrow anyone want to join us for some fun at the park??Today was quite windy, we loved it .Most likely we will be there after 4 pm. ( I guess that isn't a surprise).
Nicole- good luck with in-laws, hope to see you after they are gone ( you may need AP support )

Just wondering if any of you mommas have preschool or school aged children who would like to take a tour of the SCPD police station sometime this fall. (I'm HSing my 5 y/o son and have already got some people interested with ages ranging from infant-preteen). Doesn't really matter to me if you HS or not, just thought it'd be an interesting way for the kids to learn and maybe meet some other like-minded moms. I have to let you know tho, since the other moms who're attending are HSing, it'll probably be held on a weekday-so they'd most likely have to miss a day.

I believe the "tourable" (lol, is that a word??) facility is in Yaphank, but I could be wrong....we were gonna maybe bring a picnic lunch, or have lunch somewhere then car pool there, etc (I'm also trying to set something up for those moms who don't drive--so if you're interested, don't let that stop you, just let me know and I'll talk to the other moms).

I just wanted a round-about head count before I scheduled anything, as well as what days/dates are good and which are off limits. (Right now, Monday seems to be the pick).

If you're interested, just post back or PM or email me (HeartToHandsNY@hotmail.com).

Best Wishes, Kelly

PS-Amy, if you read this, let me know! I called a few times to see how Emerson and Pierre and you all are doing. Email me or something Lady!

Heyyyyyyy! It's my doula Kelly (I just e-mailed you)!
I would be interested if Emerson was in a travelling mood, but not sure she is yet. :LOL

How is everyone? I just can't seem to make a playdate. I'll keep trying though.

Aneta - Did we actually pick a day that you weren't at Venetian Shores?! There was a ton of people there today.

It was a beautiful day down there & Hannah had a great time until she cracked her chin on the slide. I nursed her & had one girl there in shock (6 years old I think) 'She's on your ta-tas?!' I guess just doing my bit to educate the masses

How's later in the week for everyone?

I think we're also going to try for Thursday at Belmont.

Gwen- I'm so sorry we didn't make it yesterday. Amelie totally crushed after 2pm and didn't wake up till 5pm. That doesn't happen too often, but the night before she got bitten by mosquitoes or some other creatures, and she didn't get enough sleep. But anyway I was surprise that she took such a long nap.I packed a bag full of snacks, put a stroller ready to go, was waiting by the door for an hour and nothing happened, princess didn't wake up.
We definitely want to meet with you guys some time this week. What about today or friday??Thursday is not good for as, in the afternoon we have a doc appointment for Maya. By the way , I really would love to go to this meeting at Belmont Park, but I don't think that my dh will be around to give me a lift, . Maybe next time I will have more luck.

Hi, LI mamas ... am currently one of your tribe ...

Grew up here (am at my parents' house) at Exit 41 :LOL and as I'm a RNC refugee (live in Manhattan, can't take the Republicans ... so have escaped to Republican Nassau County) am here for the week.

You know what? It does feel kind of weird. Wish there were more of y'all in Nassau County ...

Looking forward to the beach tomorrow ...

I want to say to a new mama- bodabing. We have playdates here and there, if you want to join us you are very welcome, and you are in neighborhood.I live in Lindenhurst and few other mamas also are around( West Babylon, West Islip). We usually meet at Venetian Shores Park, it is in Lindenhurst, by the town beach (off Montauk Hwy).I don't drive , so mamas come here to have a playdate .
So mamas, do you want to meet up sometime soon?I don't know about today ( wed), we most likely are going to the park, but what about friday? or tuesday ( or other day next week)?? Let us know, we are very flexible and would love company. So far we usually hung out with Gwen and Hannah, it is lots of fun :

Hi

Hello all!

Aneta- sounds like Maya is growing tall and Emerson is growing round!
She is 16 lbs. and 26 inches. She'll be four months next week!
I'm sure Emerson and Maya will be buddies!
We may try to stop by tomorrow but it's not for sure.

Hello to Tabatha and Merpk, another Amy! :

Hi! We're new to LI and looking for some playpals...

Hi!

I'm Elizabeth, my DS is Arjun (B 3/16/03) and we just moved here from Atlanta. No, we are not Southerners, we're New Englanders! We're currently in temp housing in Melville, but have a contract on a house in Babylon, in the village. We'll be moving to Babylon sometime in October. It's nice to know there are some non-mainstream mamas out here, especially on the South Shore where we'll be moving!

We're bored, don't know anyone, and are looking for some like-minded playpals.

Anyone?

Welcome Elizabeth!

We'll actually be neighbors - I'm in Babylon village also - just off of 109 between Montauk Highway & the railroad.

Anyone up for meeting today at Ventian Shores?

So mamas what about a playdate?? Gwen, we couldn't make it last friday, we were way too busy , sorry ...but this week is fine, if it is not too rainy. So what about tomorrow?? maybe 3pm, since sun is not so brutal anymore...or thursday??
