Long Island Mamas??!! - Page 5

I'm back.......with baby :)

Hello all....I had my baby girl Emerson Sage on May 18th and I've been kind of busy since then
Congratulations Tricia on your little one Victoria! I'm so envious of your home/water birth with Jeanette Breen...that was my dream.
I loved my birth anyway (did NOT love the hospital) but next time will be at home.
Aneta: I just wanted to give you the name of my ped as I went through the same search as you! Her name is Dr. Katherine Matthews in Lindenhurst and her partner is Dr. Theodora (don't know last name). She basically has no problem with non-vaxers and I told her flat out I never plan to. I had a letter drawn up from my attorney and gave her a copy to keep on file but I don't know if this is policy since I volunteered this info. You can get her # in the pages.....sorry I can't find it right now.

Hello again Dawn and Gabi!

Is anyone going to the Mothering picinic tomorrow?

Hi Amy congrats on the birth of your little one! I love the name you chose. Another taurus like my Hannah Banana!

Amy - I wanted some more feedback on Dr. Matthews (btw Aneta her number is 226-4342) - how do you like her besides the non-vax issue? how does she interact with you & your children? I also noticed she went to med school outside the US & have you noticed any differences in the way she practices? Send me a personal message if you prefer.

Anyone up for meeting tomorrow afternoon at Venetian Shores if the weather holds? Sophiasmomma - how about coming back to the old neighborhood

Aneta and Gwen...we all have little Tauruses!
Amelie and I share a birthDAY (not birthYear...lol )...my husband wanted to name our dd Amelie (he's from France) but we have an Emily in the family and it sounded too similar for us. I absolutely love it still.
Hannah is a gorgeous name too.

Aneta (and all), yes, Emerson and I would love to meet! We live in West Islip so Lindenhurst is really convenient. Our babies are so close in age!
To answer your question: dd is a great sleeper but still wakes up to nurse a few times
How about you?

Gwen, I can e-mail you about Dr. Matthews if you like or if I see you we can chat. Thanks for the compliment on dd's name.
Where's Venetion Shores?

Thanks ladies!

Venetian Shores is on the Great South Bay in Lindenhurst. Coming from West Islip, go west on Montauk Highway through Babylon & West Babylon.

Pass the South Bay Shopping Center (there's an Old Navy, Payless Shoes, Joanns) on the right & go about another quarter mile.

Where you see a Hess gas station on your right, make a left on Ventian Blvd (there's a sign but it's kinda hard to see). Follow it to the end & make a left into the park. We've been going to the playground on the right by the football field, next to the bathrooms.

Any afternoon this week is really ok for us. Hannah just went down for a nap now so she probably won't be up until about 3:15 (keeping my fingers crossed )

Amy - if you think you'll make it over there we can talk then! I loved the name Amelie too (it was right when the movie came out) but Hannah is my mother's middle name so we were pretty set on the name & then my husband nixed it altogether : - I think because he didn't want to name his child after a movie. Is Emerson named for anyone or did you just like the name?

HI mammas

We are so up for a play date , any day , hope afternoons are ok with everybody ( I just don't like kids to toast on sun). We are coming to the park today after 4pm, so if any of you wants to join us, please do so.We will be there most likely till 6pm, or longer. I know that's a little too short notice, so maybe we can schedule something for tomorrow afternoon ???
And Maymom2b-it is so great to here that you are our neighbor, West Islip is 10 min drive from us. I guess you are pisces ( like Amelie , and me , and my husband) and you are mommy to a taurus, just like me. That's really funny , I love this kind of coincidences. We definitely need to meet you. And I just want to say that your sleepless nights are coming to the end.Maya , since last week, has started to sleep through the night, of course there is still brestfeeding , but we both don't really know or remember how that's happening. I'm so happy and well rested in the mornings, so is Maya.
...And I want to say hi to Sophiasmomma, it's a pity you've moved out from Lindenhurst, we've just moved in.But maybe you can come and visit ???
ok enough this
hope to meet you mammas tomorrow.

Hi, Mamas!

Is anyone getting together at the Venetian Shores park today? I'm itching to get out and let my ds run around and meet other children. And you all can meet our newest addition to the family!

Hope to meet you all soon!

Hi Aneta, Gwen and Tricia...
sorry this post is short and a day late (I had a busy day and didn't check e-mail) but I'm interested in meeting you all today if you're still going...
Just post the time and place and I'll be there.
My cousin Sandy, another natural mama, will be with me w/her 18 month old son. I hope that's OK!
Let me know and the when and where's...
I'm on my way to my lactation consultant...

How's 3:30 sound? That should give me enough time to round up the troops and get over there. (to the Ventian Shores, I mean.)

How would we recognize each other?
I'm soooo going to Venetian Shores Park today.3:30pm sounds great, Amelie is taking her nap , so she should be pretty happy in the afternoon.
I don't think we will have problems with finding each other, I have a baby ( is she still a newborn ?- she is over 9 weeks)and Amelie -curly head , Amy has a baby and Tricia has a little boy and a baby.
And Gwen wrote few days ago great directions to the park. Gwen and Hannah -hope to see you today , Amelie keeps on asking about you guys.
I'm so excited about today's play date

Venetian Shores

Hey ladies!
I am so upset....I never received these replies in my e-mail!
I checked today just hoping by some slim chance I missed one...but two??
That's so weird!
I'm bummed I missed out on a playdate that you all attended, but I would still love to meet.
Anyone for this week?

-Amy

P.S. Where are Venetian Shores?
oops, I see now you gave me directions....
Hopefully, we could make a playdate this week. We have 2 "classes" at the library this week, but they only last an 1/2 hr or so.

What about you other ladies? Are you game?
We can try to make it this week (finally)....Thursday and Friday are out, but other days are open so far...
Count us in too!
What day and time is good for everyone?

Hi dear mammas

It is so great to hear from you all. We are free any day of this week. What about tuesday afternoon?... around 3 or 4pm? hope weather will be nice

The weather is my only concern. Is there someplace inside we could meet, just in case? e.g. a library with a children's section?
If it's rainy we can have a playdate at our house. I totally got used to have a few crazy toddlers running around and I don't mind mess since it is an everyday issue. And besides we can enjoy a nice cup of tea while our little ones go wild.Would do you think about that???
