diagonal baby? bellybutton pain?

so it seems my LO is indeed head down (has been since about 34w and I am nearly 39w), 'engaged' but not very low...

however, instead of being straight up and down, she seems to be crooked. she likes to hang out on the right side of my belly - you can almost always see her little bum pushing up. I had an ultrasound the other day and she was just as diagonal as I thought she'd be. So is there a term for this? Or will she straighten out before/during birth? I wish I could remember how my first one was but that was almost 4 years ago... and my brain seems to be pretty slow lately :P

I've also had a lot of pain in my bellybutton area today. what gives?! It feels like it's bruised or something. I don't have an 'outie', it's still mostly an innie, so I'm not sure if it'd be caused from that, or from LO rolling around like mad in there.

I lost more mucous plug today, but it was actually brown instead of yellow-green. Yay!

I haven't heard about a baby being diagonal before but I know my lo is loving the transverse position... I'm hoping she will move into the "easiest labor for me" position when its time.

my little one has been hanging out on the right side too and i have had that same tenderness in the bellybutton region.

I have the same, same issue, at almost 38 weeks. This week my midwife actually said, "Now WHAT is this baby doing?" when she saw my tummy still all lumped up on the right side. Poor lopsided baby. The only thing my MW said was that she was happy the baby had turned from her right side to her left, since it's apparently more likely for them to rotate anterior from that position.

No clue if this is normal-ish or not, since it's my first. I guess, since nobody seemed alarmed, we'll just wait and see what she does!

I think it's normal. All of mine have chose a side (first 2 were left and this LO is on the right). My LO is in a kneeling type position w/feet under butt head down & posterior- don't know about sideways unless it's a transverse lie.
