Yeah, we MUST be busy...

Eli will be starting his 2 afternoon/wk. preschool on Sept. 2, so that has been the biggest deal with him lately. He is excited about getting to go pick out Juicy Juice, Dixie cups, and napkins. lol

Hope you're all doing well!

Sounds awesome. I found a Waldorf preschool that I thought Jett would love, but it's an hour away. I don't think I can stomach the drive 3 days a week...and what would I do for the few hours he was there? It's not enough time to drive home and back reasonably, or get a part time job out there....eh....I've pretty much abandoned the thought.

We went crabbing this morning, then to the beach, then did 30 minutes at a water slide thing, then a little more crabbing. We just got home (10:30 pm) and Jett's sacked. We caught only six crabs, so no feast. Jett caught one and was THRILLED with himself. I'm steaming them right now, though, and when they're done, it's time to hit the sack. I'm wiped out. Today is the first day that I've felt almost completely normal. Yay to the end of the first trimester!!

Oh crabbing sounds like so much fun. I have been busy, busy, busy.

First, I am going back to college! I am going to be a respiratory therapist. Nursing, never quit fit me so I knew I did not want to finish that degree. I spent alot of time in prayer and pulled up the webiste for my new college and looked over the degree programs. The organization that accredits the RT program is CoArc, it was written in bold print smack dab in the middle of my screen. The most severe of Zanns heart defects was Coarctation of the Aorta and it is abbreviated CoArc. SO there was my sign. I signed up and am taking 16 credit hours, I start on the 25th.

Speaking of Rozzie is starting preschool. She stars the 25th and goes from 8:30-3:30 Monday, wednesday, and Friday. I got her school supplies and she is very excited. It is a great program, I can drop in any time, the follow GD principles, lots of independent time, outdoor play, dramas, as well as daily time alone with the teacher. There are 8 students and they have 2 teachers there for half the day. And they accepted my vax waiver no problem. But get this, it's a private Christian school. They only go to 2nd grade, but I was just dumbfounded that this place is a parochial school. The staff is awesome, I have already been in there 3 times doing paper work or what not.

The kids see their new ped on September 9th. I hope all goes well there. I found Zann a cardiologist too. My grandmas are taking turns watching him and Rozzie when she is not in preschool. I go to school 5 days per week now, Monday and Wed from 10-3 and Tuesday and thursday 8-12 and friday 8:30- 11:15. Yikes! I am nervous about being away from them for so long, Zanny still nurses.

I am seriously curious, and maybe this is obvious to others, but why?

WOW on your "sign" with the CoArc thing. That is really cool.

Congrats, Jaclyn, on getting past the first trimester! Woo hoo!

subbing.

I wish iris was starting preschool but A) i doubt she would go and B) we cant afford it with my being in school. I am continuing to homeschool but a sa future preschool educator I would like to get her in some kind of program. Maybe next fall.

Not much new here. My fall semester nexts week and I am taking 2 classes this semester so it will be a bit more of a challenge for iris and I to manage our time. Iris starts gymnastics on Tuesday and she can't wait. Other thna that we have been visiting dh in Asheville and enjoying a few weeks of family time until my schedule gets too busy to stay for weeks at a time.

In that vain if any one has any vibes to spare could you send house selling job finding vibes are way. It has now been over a year since we decided to reconcile and we have had barely any intrest in our house and there just arent any jobs-Thanks economy: I am having a hard time remaining hopeful that the move needed to make my family complete again is ever going to happen. sigh.

I was surprised it was a parochial school because several of the other parochial schools in the area, and even some of the regular schools still use corporal punishment. There is NO way I am signing a form to let someone hit my kid. Also alot of them offered very structured curriculum and did not offer healthy snacks at all. The only other school that offered anything close to this was the Montessori but that costs more and actually has more kids in the class. Also it is in the opposite direction of my school.

Wow, I am glad I asked because this is shocking to me. Do you mind telling us where you are now living in this country that still allows this? ...Man, am I just ignorant or what?

Nannymom, sending good thoughts and vibes your way. That would have to suck, to finally get things worked out and WANT to be together, and now not be able to.

I live in Ohio. But I know they still do it in Mississippi too.

We went crabbing a second time....caught half a bushel of crabs and had a feast. It was a blast...and was Jett's idea. He really wanted to go again. Here are some photos of it all. The new photos go down to where his hair is long and he's holding a back hoe.

I've got to pick all the leftover crabs tonight, so they don't go bad. Crabcake time!!!!

Jett just completely skipped size 9 shoes. Seriously, in two weeks, he went from having way too much room is his 9/10 Crocs and needing socks to keep them from giving him blisters. And, his size 9 sandals were kinda too big. He rarely ever wears shoes at all, so I wasn't worrying about it. Now, his Crocs fit just right, the sandals are too small and so are the Guccios he had. I ordered him Keens in 10, they're too small....had to send them back for 11s. And, good grief.....I know Keen runs a little small, but 11!?!?! Holy crap. I put him in jeans yesterday, since it was down in the 70s and was nice weather. They're 3T and were too short. Still enormous in the waist, mind you....he's still my string bean kid.

Jaclyn- Iris' feet did the same thing this summer. In one week they went from a a size seven being slightly too big to being an 81/2 or a 9. Her feet have always been really tiny for her frame and I think they just suddenlt caught up.

Hi, its been months since I've posted but I was thinking out Mothering the other day and here I am....

Niko is doing great, he's always busy and smiling, still loves trains and trucks and is discovering card games. My DD started 3rd grade and we are getting back into a routine again. We are planning a trip to So Cal to hit Disney with the kids in September, but they don't know about it, its a camping trip down south to them! Niko loves to hike and go the the beach so those are our usual morning outings once I work for a bit....

Here's a fairly recent picture of the kids:

Hope all is well with you all, I read this thread but didn't go back through the others. Good luck with your plans and ambitions!

We're not doing preschool this fall I don't think. Evan had a summer school type thing over the summer while I was in school and he had a decent time, but didn't use the potty there once and had to use diapers. I don't want to put him through that this fall if it were to happen again. If he does go, he'll go to the Y where I work. He just had his tonsils out on Wed and is busy healing from that. He's doing well, but of course isn't quite himself yet. He doesn't have any pain so that makes me feel better (and him too I'm sure).

AJ is going to K at church this fall and it specifically states in the handbook that they do not allow corporal punishment of any kind from staff.

I can't believe how big all the kids are.

Rozzie is in an 8 1/2 shoe. I just had to buy her 4T pants as well because the 3T are above the ankle but they are huge in the waist. I can only buy the ones with the adjustable elastic on the inside or they fall down. Either way they balloon out at the butt and look funny. Oh well. Skinny kids make pants buying fun.

That's how it is with Jett. His pants look wonky. I don't really like Gymboree stuff anyway, thankfully, but they REALLY don't fit. They seem to be for a much bulkier build. Old Navy and Gap are much better. I'm getting ready to look at bodenusa.com.

ETA: Nope...boden is too much $$.

The Osh Kosh adjustable waist pants look decent on Rozzie.

I actually bought a new bra today. I was at babies r us today, and i saw on the rack a 36 E nursing bra! I have never been able to buy off the rack. I bought it right away, it's been ages since I had a bra that fit.

Hi y'all! It's been so long since I have visited the thread. I am glad so many of us are still here.

I've been busy getting ready for my upcoming wedding! DP and I are getting married in Florida, where my family lives, on October 4th. The following day we're going on a week-long cruise (kids too, of course!) I'm very excited but also kind of nervous. I don't like public speaking or being in the spotlight at all. I kind of wish it could be just the two of us. As it is, there will just be 20 or so family members and friends, but still... :

I had a lot of fun making our wedsite, check it out!

Wow, Jaclyn, Jett looks so much older than the last time I saw pictures of him! I used to go crabbing with my parents. Good times!

Of course, my 7 yo daughter has become a vegetarian because she loves animals too much to eat them, so we will not be going crabbing, like, ever. Unless we put them back after we caught them! She feels so strongly about all animals that I am also mostly vegetarian now. She was the only one in the family for a long time, and she's very grateful that I have joined her.

Marcos is cute, and funny, and crazy! We have FINALLY gotten down to one nursing a night. I told him, not until the sun comes up, so he nurses around
6, which to me is still night! But as I said that, I guess I'm realizing that he's nightweaned. Just because I want to go back to sleep after that nursing doesn't make it night. We still nurse a lot through the day.

Me & the kids on my birthday (36!)
