Thanks winginit.

About me:
I'm Natalie and am married to James. We have a little boy named Conor. James and I met in a bar nearly 10 years ago and have been married for over 7 years. We live in Philadelphia and have 2 large dogs (both golden retriever mixes). I am a WOHM- I am an occupational therapist and the director of rehabilitation at a rehab center just over the bridge in NJ. I enjoy sewing, watching bad tv, and when not pregnant, I am an oenophile.

1) What do you have left to do to get ready for babies arrival?
I am still working on the nursery/ pretty diaper changing room. I also need to beef up my cloth diaper stash. And I need to relax. I just started maternity leave, so I'd like to enjoy a little time off before baby arrives.

2) What would you do with a million dollars?
Pay off the house and do some remodeling. Give some to family members. Take a fancy vacation. Treat ourselves to some fun presents.

3) What is your favourite breakfast?
That's hard. Breakfast is my favorite meal. I think I'd have to say eggs benedict though. Or really good pancakes with fresh blueberries. With tea and a mimosa. Yum!!

1) What is the title of the last book you read?
I'm guessing pregnancy and baby books don't count? I'm actually not a big reader, so the last thing I read was awhile ago and it was a book about the Rolling Stones.

2) What one pregnancy ailment or ache could you really do without?
morning sickness!! I had hyperemesis with my son and although it wasn't that bad this time, it was still pretty awful. I could definitely do without that.

3) Do you believe in ghosts and the paranormal?
Not really.

1) What is your favorite color?
Orange. Bright orange.

2) What date do you predict you will have this baby?
Not sure. But I definitely think September. (I'm due the 3rd)

3) Do you want more children after this one, and if so how many?
I don't know. We said no and now neither of us are 100% on that. If we were to consider a 3rd, it wouldn't be for at least another 3 years.

What types of things do you like to sew?
What is an oneophile?
how/why did you choose your username?
Ok someone stole my question because I have no idea what an oenophile is but I am now curious to find out. Anyway...

1. What are your 3 favorite movies?

2. If you could learn a new skill easily what would it be?

3. What are your dogs names?

What types of things do you like to sew?
nothing fancy. right now I'm doing some burp cloths. I've also ordered some rings to make a ring sling and am looking for fabrics to make some cloth wipes.

What is an oneophile?
An oenophile is a wine lover!! DH and I enjoy drinking and learning about wines. We read a lot about wines, keep a journal of what we drink, and like to go to local tastings/ vineyards. We drink mostly reds, but I do enjoy champagne, too.

how/why did you choose your username?
I chose it years ago when I started my livejournal. I was listening to Bowie (modern love) and it seemed right. I love modern art, modern decor, etc.

1. What are your 3 favorite movies?
hmmm, that's a tough one. I'll go with Pretty in Pink, Memento, and Best in Show.

2. If you could learn a new skill easily what would it be?
I'd like to learn to knit. Or speak Spanish.

3. What are your dogs names?
My old girl is Pogue (Irish for "kiss") and the boy is Chewy (Chewbacca)

Mmm. I haven't had breakfast yet, so your "eggs benedict" made me hungry!

- How long have you lived in Philadelphia?
- What surprised you the most about being a mom when Conor was born?
- What are you most looking forward to doing BEFORE this baby is born?

What would you knit?
Ha! I have no idea. I mean, knitting is so relaxing for other people, I thought it would be nice to do. But I never thought about actually making anything.

What is your favorite cloth diaper?
We didn't start CDing DS until he was about 8 months or so. We used Fuzzi Bunz and Happy Heineys. I liked the HHs better. I'm going to try a couple different kinds this time but I have a feeling I'll probably like the HHs again- they are super easy.

Are you enjoying maternity leave?
Yup!! I kept DS home from preschool today and we had a great time. We met one of our LJ buddies at a children's museum and played. Very fun. Next week I'll be doing a lot of relaxing- alone.

- How long have you lived in Philadelphia?
My whole life. I was born and raised just outside the city, but my parents brought me into the city for lots of stuff- plays, museums, etc. In high school I did a lot of volunteer work in the city, too. And then I went "away" to college in the city. After college and grad school I stayed. DH and I bought our house here 5 years ago. I can't imagine living anywhere else. I'm definitely a city girl.

- What surprised you the most about being a mom when Conor was born?
Actually, I'm surprised by a lot. I never imagined I'd be so devoted to 1 person. I also never in a million years would have thought that I'd be the AP/ NFL mama I am. I didn't even plan to nurse really. I thought I'd try it, but wasn't committed to it at all. No one I knew nursed- and neither of our mothers did. After he was born, I couldn't imagine feeding him another way. We nursed for 2.5 years and I can't wait to nurse this one. So funny how completely different I feel about it.

- What are you most looking forward to doing BEFORE this baby is born?
I am really looking forward to relaxing on maternity leave. I work hard and a lot and my job is stressful, so having time to myself is going to be really nice.

1. How does DS feel about the upcoming baby? Is he aware?
He's pretty excited actually. He's over 3, so he knows that things are changing. He likes to feel the baby move and he likes to play in the baby's room. Sometimes he doesn't really want to talk about it, but lately he does. He says he'll share toys with the baby and knows that the baby gets nursies and needs diapers. He's a pretty laid back kid, so I think he'll be ok with everything.

2. What kind of sewing machine do you have? Do you like it?
I have a Kenmore. My mom bought it for me a few years ago. I do like it. It's pretty basic, but it does everything I need.

3. Do you like holiday traditions?
Love 'em!! We don't really do a lot of "traditional" things, but we have our own and it's my favorite part of the holidays. We do Mexican food for Christmas Eve and open 1 gift. That's my favorite one.
