When do they start liking sleep

Or at least not fighting it as a deadly enemy? Sheesh. I know that some kids are easy from the beginning, and I know that my DD is on the hard end of the spectrum, but she fights sleep with every fiber of her being. I was wondering if folks with kids that were that way could enlighten me on when, approximately, their kids at least accepted sleep as a reasonable thing to do when tired.....

I am not desperate or anything, we have a workable solution, and it's keeping me fit. She gets walked to sleep. When daddy's out of town, she gets walked to sleep while I carry her 26 lb baby brother. GREAT workout. Just curious....

We really only require that DD stay in bed. You can't make them sleep. We let her have books in bed and she reads until she's sleepy and then goes to sleep. She's typically asleep by the same time every night, which is more than an hour after she's officially in bed. That said, we have always put DD to bed in her own bed while she was awake (in the early days, awake was sometimes not very awake). Of course, none of this happened over night, but she gives us very little trouble going to bed. She does sometimes get out of bed to show us pictures in her books. We just send her back to bed and she still ends up falling asleep at her usual time.

My DD was about 3 before she settled all through the night. Trials and tribulations of being a parent, everyone keeps saying I won't be able to get her out of her bed when she is a teenager- figures.:

dd1 is 4 and still hates to sleep! dd2 LOVES sleeping at 22 months. Opposite ends of the spectrum.

I honestly don't think you want my answer.

my dd (now 7) didn't start LOVING sleep until she started a full day of school and a four day a week sports program

ds (3) likes going to bed - to read and sneak thomas the trains into his bed but the actual sleep, i don't think so!

DD1 was always a difficult sleeper, though in retrospect she wasn't nearly as hard to get to sleep as her little sister! I think now, at 6, she is willing to admit she is tired and would like to go to bed, and will happily fall asleep in her bed. Sometimes she asks me to lie down with her for five minutes, and often she falls asleep while I give her reiki or just snuggle her.

At 3, her little sister is still not thrilled about it, but has more easy nights than hard on the whole. I think it's mostly been about giving them a place to sleep that really makes them happy.

Sorry. Good luck!
