I didn't see a thread so I thought I would start it up!

Today is my due date!!:

Now I just need to have this baby! I always thought it would be tomorrow because of the full moon, so we shall see.

hi my name is shiloh and i am still pregnant
its one day until my due date
I'm still here, feeling crampy and strange.

I really could not sleep at all last night. I'm going to try to sleep again now.
Finally got the bedroom ready for a birth! I even sorted all my shoes and packed the ones I know i won't be using away for the move!

All i need to do is get the mop out and do a once over. To bad the rest of the floors in the house are in need of a date with the mop! Maybe after dh cleans up the mess in the bathroom (it's almost done!).. I'm sick of sheet-rock dust and pvc pipe shreds being tracked all over, I just gave up.

Sending lots of restful, peaceful vibes out to all of you living on the edge

I have more pains but no show or anything important

I'm getting pains in my bum now too, why???

Someone said castor oil, well I already have the runs (for 9 months) and I don't think it helps.

I guess we're just waiting till Monday.

I wish I could reach my cervix since DH is so clueless
post #6 of 39
I too couldn't sleep last night, just tossed and turned and had this weird awareness of my belly and cervix, almost like I could feel it thinning out...

Ds fell asleep nursing and then the wind slammed the front door. He panicked and bit down in his sleep and my poor nipple took a beating. It is so sore and swollen now.

I think we will go to the chiropractor today and then for a long long LONG walk.

: I just feel really good today, no idea why but I'm goin' with it!

40 weeks tomorrow. It's so strange to be 40 weeks since ds came a bit early. Going to chiro soon and then midwife appt. Feeling alright, yesterday I was really emotional. Need to mop floors too, and do a general cleaning of the kitchen. Gotta shower before chiro!

35 wks, 2 days. doing well.

yesterday was a bit rough. i didn't sleep well the night before, and didn't rest well during the day. while i ate quality food, i didn't eat at the right intervals, and then i had some caffine (iced tea) which keyed me up. taught a yoga class at the gym, which was great, but my body was *stressed* by the time we got home.

and that stress manifested in GI trouble. it only lasted about 30 minutes all told, but it wasn't fun. settled down with some peppermint tea and some toast and jam.

otherwise, had a great night's sleep, and my belly and baby feel great. when the baby gets to moving before/after contractions, it tickles. the contractions themselves feel really nice. i get a warm feeling in my back and pelvis--like a heating pad feeling or something--and then the baby starts to move and it tickles!

DH says i'll probably be the first to write a birth story about a ticklish birth! LOL

today, he's concerned about the "any day now" idea. he wants Sept 5 to be the birthday (for a lot of reasons), even though the "EDD" is Aug 27, and of course, this weekend is full moon and nearly everyone is guessing this weekend. LOL

who knows? anyway, still having fun. lots going on around here.

oh, and the closet is DONE and the baby stuff is currently in the wash (in pillow cases), and so i'll be able to finish soon!

mattress comes next week! woohoo!

I feel like my lesson of the week has been "pay attention". I should have paid attention when other moms suggested I not try to work up until my due date (HeatherRN - boy, do I wish I'd taken advantage of some of that pre-labor SDI time). I should have paid attention when they recommended against having an "apartment-guest" in our one bedroom in the days leading up to the birth.

I have decided that -- now -- I will pay attention and make some visiting hours rules or my father will be here for 12 hours a day (at least he wont be staying here -- we will at least manage to be firm about that) -- ostensibly to see the baby, but in reality it will be a combination of the draw of the baby (he is very excited about his grandchild), our phone (he's having cell phone issues), and the wireless internet so he can keep things moving back at work while he's out here. He'll be thrilled to hold the baby a ton, but will otherwise monopolize our living room, computer and phone all day and night.

Argh. He's a good man, and I know he loves me dearly -- but clueless as h*** about being a good house guest (he's a bachelor, perhaps that explains it) and being sensitive to other folks' space, time & needs.

End of my rant.

Re. baby (oh, yeah - *that*)...nothing happening. Contractions picked up a bit yesterday, and loose bms this morning, but nothing significant as far as I can tell. EDD my mw gave is tomorrow...but I was (bored and) playing with those online due date calcs yesterday (you know, just in case I could figure out a way to shave a few days off the edd) -- and lo and behold, I think her little edd wheel didn't account for the leap year. Every one I tried (calculating from conception date) indicated that my edd is actually today..though if I plug in the same conception date from previous years, they spit out 8/16 as the Edd. So methinks it's actually today.

Not that it matters. Baby is probably going to hang out inside where it's cozy and nutty-people-free until I stop being so cranky and stressed about my dad.

Sorry. Second day in a row of long, rambly, cranky post.

Crankypants is going to eat something now.

Not yet.

Watched the Olympics w/ dh and didn't get to bed until really late, I am very tired, I hope I don't go into labor all exhausted.

I still need to go school supply shopping with ds before baby. He starts on the 21st. His 'back to school night' is on dh's 30th birthday (the 28th). I was going to have an impromptu surprise party. Now, I guess not. I don't like having a kid in school. If I wasn't so lazy, I'd just homeschool.

I've got family court on the 26th. My oldest son's dad is a jerk.

I need this baby out soon. I wish I could show it my week-at-a-glance. I totally thought I was going to go early.

I kind of feel like I might be getting sick.

38 weeks and 5 days here... I'd be ok if this little dude wanted to come out with the full moon this weekend, but I don't really see it happening. I've had lots more braxton hicks the last couple of days, but no real contractions yet and I haven't even started to lose my mucous plug yet Really I think I have just reached the cranky uncomfortable point and am tired of being pregnant. I went to the store today and restocked our kitchen in hopes that the baby will be here soon.
On a happier note I had the best night's sleep last night I've had in a week. It was sooo nice to not wake up at 4 and not go back to sleep :

Last day at work for me, feels strange and I'm convinced they'll call everyday with something

This probably sounds gross, but every single night lately I wake up in a pool of sweat - it's just disgusting. To the point I have to shower I feel so foul

And DS2 has been running a fever for the past 2 days & DS1 has had some gastro issues. Poor babies, but at least it's not when Elias is here. Hopefully it will run it's course and be gone as quickly as it came. I am concerned about DS1 starting Kindergarten next week and what kind of germs he'll bring home for us & Elias. We've gone months without a sniffle, but I'm sure all of that will change :

I'm having tons of contractions and feel compelled to finally pack the baby's bag

Hey Mamas,

Yesterday was my duedate so I'm officially late. Little Girl was 9 days late so I'm not too surprised. I'm trying to be very Buddhist about it and not stress but it's hard to be patient. I saw my mw today and she offered to do the sweep/stretch (what started Little Girl's labor) but I declined until next week. The only thing that makes me anxious is that she thinks this one is already an 8.5 babe. Ug.
How do they do a sweep if your not dialted, I never figured it out
post #18 of 39
I'm 38 weeks 3 days, and no action here. I am starting to feel a little panicked about not getting everything done in time. They changed the maternity leave policy at work, so even though I already filled out the form once, I need to do it again, but this time fill out two (and no one seems to know where the 2nd form is located).

I hope I got until my due date!
I'm due tomorrow. This morning I had some pretty good back pain and contractions but they've petered out. As usual. I have maybe slightly more discharge.

Other than that, nada.
