10 week doppler check

My first appointment is today! You can usually hear the heartbeat, right? Does anyone know if it helps to have a full bladder?

I read an information sign on the office wall on Wednesday saying that you don't need a full bladder.

You may or may not hear it at 10 weeks. No, you don't need a full bladder.
Don't worry if you don't hear it because it's not uncommon. If you're thin, that helps to hear it earlier. I have a uterus that tilts quite a bit toward my back so that's a factor for me. They can never get mine this early.

If they don't hear it, maybe they'll do a super quick u/s just long enough for you to see the heartbeat to put your mind at ease. Let us know when you get back!

I had my first today and we couldn't find it (I'm 9 weeks). I'm not worried, since I know it's uncommon to get one so early. I hope I won't get worried later though! I have another appt. in 3 weeks to check again.

Are you back yet? How did it go?

Thanks for asking! Yes we heard it! : 176bpm. She found it pretty quickly too. My own heartbeat kept getting in the way, but it was cool to hear one then the other. DH was so excited.

I'm 10w 5d, so a bit further along than you, nuwave. You'll hear it next time.
