Currently in active labor 5cm 90% effaced... oh man this hurts sooo bad. I hope this is over soon.

Well all day yesterday I was having some either beginning contractions or bh, it felt like bear hugs and was not painful. I finally decided to head to bed around midnight and after 20 min of laying down I started having some painful contractions they were mostly 7 min. apart each contration lasting about 30 seconds and that was going on for about an hour and a half before passing out from exhaustion. Yesterday I checked myself and believe I was about 50% effaced but was unable to check dilation as my fingers just arent reaching that high. I have continured having contractions that have been waking me during my attempted sleep and finally decided now at 4:10 to wake up. I checked myself again and I believe that now I am about 80-90% effaced but still I am unable to check dilation, also lost more mucous plug when I sat on the toilet. So these contractions are real and are doing their job I just don't know how much longer it will take to be in transition or ready to push....
As of right now the contractions are coming every 3 min. and still are only about 30 seconds long, maybe they are lasting longer but im only counting til they stop hurting... anyone ever have contractions that didnt last a full minute?
Looks like sometime today baby will be born!!!:

Hey it's finally starting to happen!!! Question, how long after having some bloody discharge did you start to go into labor?

So I've had contractions all day, nothing painful just strong pressure pushing baby down... it actually feels kinda good (i am really weird and have always liked pressure being applied to parts of my body, for example, I loved having people sit on my back while I layed down.) Anyways, still slightly bloody discharge, gonna dtd tonight and hopefully that will get things going into full swing!!!
So excited! I went to target to get another kiddie pool and dh and I walked around the baby aisle a bit more, oh I can't wait!

Morning Betty!
Contractions are getting closer, when I posted earlier the first few were three min apart then went to six a couple times then down to four... now they are definitely three (clocked it for over an hour) they seem to be moving on to two min apart though so who knows how much longer... I seriously expected more pain though, i mean yes they hurt but it feels like an intense period cramp with back pain that lasts for a min then goes away, oh and yes they are a min long... i was counting before then starting looking at the clock, I was counting slow (helped with the pain).
So what are you up to this morning?

That is exciting! I am glad that the pain is so tolerable.

Nothing labor-wise here. I am still a week from my EDD anyway though. Got some house cleaning and three parties to go to today. ugh.

I'm due Monday. I had regular BH contrax all night, but I managed to sleep through most of it. This morning...nothing.

I wanted to go to Babies R Us to return a few items I got from my shower, but it is an hour away from where I live, so I'm a little nervous. I'm going to see if anything happens this morning and decide this afternoon if I am going to go.
