Recommend a yarn, please

I'll be making Petrol for my dad's October birthday. He is a golfer (like, daily, seriously), and I want something that will move with him, be cool enough, but also keep him warm...oh, and washability is a plus for my mom.

What yarn fits the bill?? I have been on Elann, looked through Knitpicks, and I just can't settle on one.

I'd go with a superwash wool, I think. Maybe Mission Falls or Cascade?
