Shows you think got cancelled too soon - Page 2

Firefly. There is no more cancelled-too-soon than that. Poor thing didn't even get a chance.

MSCL, yup.

Once and Again. :

Dark Angel (also :-worthy )

But really, my will to watch TV ended when they cancelled Firefly.

That totally and completely depends on what you think of as "better". I'm a huge Buffy fan, but if I ever get alone in a room with JW, I will perform maiming acts of violence upon his person for what he did on that show. You think he would have yanked us around any less with Firefly? Look what he did on Serenity! That would have happened on the show, eventually. The man is incapable of leaving anyone happy on his shows. At all. Ever. I love him because he makes us love the characters, and I hate him because of what he does to them.

I couldnt believe that....then they replace it with an apparently "sexier" ghost/spiritual show (Ghost Whisperer)...which to this day i've never watched.

ok, you guys are seriously bumming me out....i'd forgotten all about these great shows that never got their endings. So sad.

Daybreak was esp weird (i'm assuming you mean the one w/ taye diggs?) because they could have just made it a miniseries, or heck even a tv movie...they could have wrapped that up pretty easily instead of just cancelling it. We were watching on the abc site, and never finished it, then it was gone...so i dont know how far they even got in the show.

There was this series called "The Days" about a family (whose last name, i think, was Day)...i thought it was really good. The season finale ended with the teen daughter, who was pg, going in for an abortion and the mom, who was also pg getting in a car accident....then, cancelled. Sheesh.

And one that i'm sure everyone else hated...but i dont know why...."Windfall", with Luke Perry and a bunch of other people, about a group of coworkers who win the lottery, and how that affects their lives. One of the actresses is now, i think, on that show "Swingtown".....i actually thought the show was really well acted, interesting....i dont get it. There was another series starring, i think, Ming Na (from ER) about a fertility clinic...there was like three episodes before the series was cancelled. Wtf? If you have such low hope for a show, how does it even make it on the air?!

Oh, and i didnt think "Cavemen" was THAT bad. :

Book of Daniel: another "controversial" great one axed too soon.

Millennium: Never made it to 2000, so we never found out what the big revelation was supposed to be.

Deadwood
Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip
The Sopranos (I know they wanted to go out in their prime and I know it couldn't last forever...but man, I didn't want it to end)

I hated that show. I watched it, but hated it. Wanted to love...but nope, hated it.

And i love love love Aidan Quinn (i was thisclose to naming my new baby Aidan) so i really wanted to love it. And the girl who plays Lily on AMC....Levin Rambin...love her, so was happy to see her get a primetime show. (She played the girlfriend of one of the sons.) But it was like they took every possible "controversial" thing possible and threw them all at you at once. So to me, it became a cliche. Look, we transracially adopted! AND we have a gay son! And there are lesbians! And premarital teen sex!! and then there's a hip jesus, woohoo! (i thought that was soo silly.) on and on. I have no problem whatsoever with any or all of those scenarios, but i dont think it was done well. And the writing/dialogue. Blech.

Each week i'd watch and wonder if it would get better, if they'd find their groove. But nope. I was sorry it was cancelled cuz i always wish my dear Aidan well, but he deserved better.

Another vote here for:

Firefly
Dead Like Me
Dark Angel

oh, and Farscape (but at least that one finally got a movie to finish it).

and New Amsterdam (what were they thinking! They gave us like 4 shows then, poof, it's gone!)

Arrested Development without a doubt and I can't believe no one has mentioned Men in Trees.
It was brilliant

Firefly - I have them on DVD...but, when they show them on Sci-Fi...I still have to watch.

Millenium - I'm still addicted to that show

Homefront - LOVED that show...I felt like there was a void after it was gone

JOURNEYMAN!!!! - I'm still upset about that...

MOONLIGHT!! - you know what's upsetting about that one...I missed the last 2 episodes

Kindred: The Embraced...poor Mark Frankel

The Wire - I'm going watching life in B-More

Deadwood - Swearengen was just such a great character...Ian McShane did him justice

I'm sure I'll think of more later

My vote: Wonderfalls. Possibly my favorite show ever (outside of Lost) and it was canceled after 4 episodes. You can get the entire season on DVD, though, and it doesn't leave you hanging like Carnivale.
